I graduated from Doane College in Crete, Nebraska, with a Vocal Performance and Theatre/Arts double major in 2006. While at Doane, I attended the Midwest Theatre Auditions in St. Louis in February of 2004. I was fortunate to be hired by the Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan, as their Master Carpenter for that summer's season which included Beauty and the Beast, Aida, and Guys 'n Dolls starring Tom Wopat and Adrian Zmed. During my college time, I participated in 3 choirs during all 4 years, including an all-male a capella choir and a jazz/show choir. I had numerous solos, both vocal and dance, in all three choirs and all made annual tours across Nebraska and the United States. The Doane Choir, our classical choir, also traveled to several locations in Germany and the Czech Republic in May of 2005.
My senior project, entitled "The Best of Both Worlds," comprised of two acts: a musical and a theatrical. The musical act comprised of classical songs in three languages (German, Italian, and English) from composers including Ralph Vaughan Williams, Gaetano Donizetti, and Robert Schumann. The theatrical act comprised of 6 different pieces from both straight and musical theatre and included scenes from Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll, The Kentucky Cycle, and Greater Tuna and songs from Jekyll & Hyde, Children of Eden, and Wicked. The entire performance was assembled by myself, including lights, stage and musical direction, costume, and makeup.
As of August 2006, I had moved to Branson from the Lincoln, Nebraska, area and began working at Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction as a light technician. I am currently still there working the lights, but have also learned the lights and sound for the pre-show act and occasionally dance in the show as well.
Special information
Although I am interested in doing all kinds of acting, my primary focus is that of the stage.
