The first thing that springs into your mind when you think about your winter vacation is skiing. This wonderful hobby is in its golden age and it does not look like it is going to loose its popularity any time soon. There are a lot of fine skiing resorts in the world, even in the places like Argentina, so it is very difficult to define which of them is the best. In this article I would like to present you some of the finest world skiing destinations. This list is made in no particular order. All of these resorts are spectacular and I only try to put all of them in one place.

Aspen, Colorado USA
One of the most famous skiing resorts in the world. It is famous for the reputation to attract celebrities to ski there. There are more than 100 runs to hit and the village is wonderful. The only minus I could mention is it is a bit expensive. But if your wallet is thick enough, choose Aspen and you will not regret. That I can promise.

Whistler/Blackcomb, British Columbia
This two mountain skiing resort is on of the finest in the whole world. It has everything that any skier or snowboarder would want: a beautiful village, hundreds of cafes, restaurants, bars, luxury hotels. It has been elected USA’s most favorite resort. Japanese also rate it as the most favorite international skiing destination.

Portes du Soleil France, Switzerland
It is just impossible not to love this destination. It has more than 1.000 trails available. That's the beauty of Portes du Soleil, which lies near the border between France and Switzerland. There are 13 individual ski resorts, all of them are connected between each other and all sharing the same lift pass. There are 219 lifts and about 650 km of the available snow slopes. I can’t imagine how long it would take you to get bored of that.

Saas Fee, Switzerland
With a skiing altitude between 1,800m and 3,500m and access to a glacier, Saas Fee is a favorite destination for pre-season ski tests and late-season powder hunters. While there are only 140km of tracks, a good number of them are on the glacier and those that aren’t are equipped with snow cannons meaning that snow is pretty much guaranteed. The resort represents the sort of Swiss alpine charm that many other high resorts lack in their commercial targeted resorts.

Stowe, Vermont, Eastern United States
One of the most beautiful resorts on the map, it offers lots of slopes for both beginners and pros. Stowe's has two ski areas, which are Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak.
It has a lift link to another resort. Stowe accommodates more than 90 shops and 60 restaurants to make sure that visitors have all they might need in one place.

Les Trois Vallees , France
Well this is not the resort it self, it is an area which contains of five different and amazing skiing resorts. And the beauty of it is that with only one lift ticket you can ski in them all. There is about 6.000 feet for you to drop and all ski trails adds up to 400 miles (no kidding) of snow for you to cover.

Vail, Colorado, Western United States
Vail skiing does not really need any more marketing, to be honest. It...
