Men's HealthMen's health is a greatly neglected area in healthcare, with not much publicity or readily available advice on particularly men's problems.

Men have many demands put on them in life, which add an unhealthy strain on their health.

Often contributing to a large part, if not all, of the income in order to support their family, men are heavily depended on. Many men work hard and play hard because they want to get the most out of life, but is this fast lifestyle damaging their health?

There is not much data on the subject as men's problems often take a backseat to women's problems. Only recently have the problems of prostate and testicular cancer come into the limelight. Also, the silence and embarrassment that surrounds certain medical conditions can do generations of damage. Many men of the past were so embarrassed that they would rather die of prostate or testicular cancer silently than see a doctor about their problems.

As age sets in, men experience deterioration of their functions, their sight and hearing start to go, their memory begins to falter and they start getting aches and pains where they didn't used to, this can often be quite alarming and depressing. Lack of advice as to how to deal with these, can often worsen the problem and leave men in despair.

Mental health is very important, as the Ancient Roman saying goes; 'healthy mind, healthy body'. Many of men's health problems are related to the amount of responsibility and stress they take on in their daily lives. For some there is no outlet for the feelings of insecurity or negative thoughts which naturally arise when under stress. These bad states of mind are guaranteed to have adverse effects on men's physical health as studies have proven. Studies have shown that feelings of despair can lead to potentially fatal heart attacks, and that hopelessness may affect the levels of a compound called serotonin in the body. One of serotonin's functions is to stimulate arteries to constrict, which can raise blood pressure. Life expectancy is greatly reduced by lack of attention to these problems, before they get too serious.
