There are many young and talented photographers who can not afford to have a private studio. Is there any way out? There's always a way out - you can build an in-house studio. Maybe after some time of work at home, which is definitely very comfortable and cheaper, you won't even consider setting up your photo studio somewhere else.
If you live alone or there's an empty room or basement or attic at your place - you have no problems. There are few only if you have no free space and have to build it in your own room.
Whether you'll be able to take any pictures you need at home or you will still have to search for some other place in some certain situations depends on the space you have. The larger the space you are going to use is - the more professional your studio can get.
If you have a separate room for your studio - paint it. Grey and dark blue are best, because they blend in nicely. If you are setting the studio in your bedroom and don't want to live in a grey room, purchase a peace of cloth and cover the space you will be using. It'll be easy to change in some other color if there'll be a necessity and you will always be able to "pack" your studio.
The most important part of any photo studio is lightning. Once again if you have separate room, you may purchase special lightning equipment. If it's too expensive for you - see how they are made and make it yourself. Ask your father or friends to help you with metal constructions (you may also use wood) and use modify table lamps into the ones you need. To see those constructions search through internet or simple visit photo equipment shop. If you must get all this stuff in your room - don't bother with making all this stuff. You may also use simple table lamps; just you'll need more of them and will have to place them very accurately.
In each case plan to be mobile, so you could change the place of your studio any time. As far as you won't be able to take pictures of any object, concentrate on smaller ones. To find the best place of natural lightning run some tests. Take pictures of the same object in every corner and various positions and see which ones are best. Try to concentrate on that one place.
If you are making pictures by yourself and have the equipment you need. All you are looking for is dark place. Basement is a nice place, you will have enough space and it'll be dark. If there are windows, you may cover them with black cloth or paint black. Don't to forget to ask if your family agree and tell always to knock before coming in. If there's no basement there you live, maybe there's pantry. You won't have much space, but it's something. Of course you may paint your own rooms' windows black or cover them in black cloth, but it's definitely not a good idea.
Setting up in-house photo studio definitely requires effort and creativity. But everything is possible, just have patience and concentrate on your purpose. In-house photo studio may be very comfortable and cheap, just use your imagination!
