Can anyone tell me if this place is good. They called and said that they want
Haley to go to vages there will be top models and lots of agencies there. But to
go there we would have to pay $2,000 for the package. What do you all think?
Thanks Haleys mom
if they are searching for you then you should have to pay.
although what exactly is the 2000 for? is it for accom and travel?
Howdy.I'm a 18 year old half asian from Ireland who really would love to get with an agency who can get her exposure or anything please look at my profile and get back to me

The third entry of a Google search on Model Search of America gives an example
of what goes on. You get very little more than a quick shot at some agencies,
who then want you to spend more money for them to represent you.
Better to have some good shots taken by a local photographer you know and
trust--or can keep an eye on--and send or email those to reputable agencies in
Minneapolis area or Chicago.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going! If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!
Hi Haley's mom. $2000 is crazy money to be spending on a nine year old girl for
modelling. It's actually crazy money to be spending on anyone. I would go with a
rough rule of avoiding anyone who asks for money.
If someone/the agency believes your daughter can become successful, they will be
be confident they can make money by taking a percentage of what she earns.
However if they don't think they can make money from her...........then they
will ask you for cash off you.
I would definitely not hand over any money. If I were you I would pay a good
local professional photographer instead, and make sure you have full rights over
these pics.

It seems that anything relating to Childrens wishes and expectations is taken
advantage of these days, I see it so many times in the U.K.
Retailers taking advantage of current childrens films to promote rubbish sweets
and fast foods.
The reason I commenced the Childrens party side of my operation was because
parents around were paying out vast amounts of money for the same old
entertainers and there was no child input or particular interest or
creativity.
People without morals and ethics have for a long time taken advantage of those
who think their child may be a star, hey all parents think their child is a
star, but they should NOT ask for money, if they have a ligitimate business with
contacts and work offers then there should be no need to take money from you.
For many years my mum taught piano to children and often there would be a
suituation where the child loved music but showed no particular talent in
learning to play, she would then tactfully express this to the parent rather
than have them put further expense into it or suggest alternatives.
In short throwing money at something is not the route, I would suggest local
paegents (Did I spell that correctly DERR!) Beauty Queen contests, local
advertising for fashion retailers and the like as first steps and anywhere that
you can create a link to yourself as mother of the aspiring model.
Theyre a scam... No real agency is going to ask you for money to join AND if
they do ask for any money it should be taken from the jobs that the book the
models to work. not from your pocket first AND that money should only be for
workshops and building the portfolio. I suggest you save your time and money and
try some TFCD photoshoots (trade for cd meaning -free-) and build the portfolio
that way. Then send some photo's to a real agency. Model Search America is not
an agency. they give empty promises to get you signed with an agency meanwhile
taking your money and leaving you with nothing. Good Luck.

Please don't listen to them, they just wan to rip you off your hard earned
money.
she's a young and beautiful girl, if an agency wants her, they'll do anything
for her, not you paying them like she's no good. don't listen to them at al.

one word, scam
easiest thing to do is to always to background checks like on sites like
ripoffreport.com or easybackgroundcheck.com and there are also some other sites
you could possibly check with. But MSA also has a lot of other names too. Most
modeling conventions are not worth the time. Just remember any money you spend
going to a convention could be going to something a lot more useful to help your
child model. and conventions to be honest, no child needs to go to. the best
thing for you do to is check in with local agencies to see if they do any child
modeling (and dont forget to do background checks). Newmodels.com is a good
website you should check out. It should help you out and understand the industry
a little better. But for a child, the best thing is to get them in with a local
agency that does represent child models and start there.
