i don't know if i'm the only one but exercise can really frustrate me at times.

when you start and continue it works like magic but when you take a break you add all the lost pounds and even more!

is there something i'm doing wrong? or does anyone else feel this way?

let me know... :saint:

Remember this......if you do something once in a while it can be annoying.....it takes 19 days of anything new to be come a habit.....stick with it and it will be part of your daily routine.......you might even get mad if you miss a day...
WOW...

:muscle:

19 days? I'll try to keep that in mind! :)

Daphne, I don't usually gain weight when I stop exercising unless I pig out regularly, but I do lose toning. It doesn't bother me so much because I know it's my own fault for not keeping up my exercise - I do get annoyed however when regular exercise doesn't tone or lose any weight when it's supposed to. Very very annoying!

I prefer to lift weights and do more stationary exercises then anything else.
I have a new bowflex a home, I just need to make more time to use it... some how.

Unlike many other people I don't really add more "weight" back onto myself when I stop working out, I just loose my muscle tone/mass in general.

Just like with anything else a good exercise regime demands commitment.
It doesn't happen over night, and your body will not stay fit with out a lot of self discipline!

For anyone concerned about loosing muscle mass during periods when you are not working out try to take some L-Glutamine. It's great for that and also helps memory!
Everything I've done, and all that I have yet to do, is only to forget the meaning of your name.

well, i guess that is it.

sometimes you are exercising for 14 days and no sign at all. it makes you unsure if you are doing the right thing.

these exercises for thighs, they hardly show results or is it simply my eyes that are deciving me?

anyone ever tried thighs or tummy or butt exercise and seen marvellous results?:saint:

You'll be looking at 3 weeks (if your lucky) or longer for really noticeable results.
Depending on if you are doing the exercises properly, and how rigorous you do your training.
I weight lift every other day.
I exercise and do my stretches every day.

I stopped for a long time, and I'm very out of shape, I'm just beginning again.

Exercise IS annoying at first, but not half as annoying as being weak and out of shape.

It takes a while, but once you get where you want to be, theres no feeling like it in the world, and the rewards are equal for the mind and body.

When I was serious about bodybuilding, my trainer would even cook my workout meals for me to insure the right amounts of protein and such.

I still work out pretty much daily but nothing like before. The good thing for you Daphne, is that if you get into really good shape at your age, it's much easier when you are older to get back into shape.

Also, don't worry about becoming bulky with muscles, that never happens without serious dedication or by accident. go for it and good luck !

I think that you ll find all kinds of sports annoying at first but after a while (it usually only takes about a week for me since I try to exercise daily) you really get addicted to exercising and will feel a lot more energetic than before..I even feel a kind of loss of energy as soon as I miss out one day :)

Hm, I love exercising Especially Since im not a couch potatoe or a lazy bum..Having brothers Motivates me also.

You mean sweating and pain and effort and moving?

Subject myself to mideaval torture willingly?

I'm not that sadistic. Exercise is freaking annoying!
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

Hm I love exercise.
But maybe it's just me...haha I don't know.
Yeah, it's kinda rewarding, you know?

It can become addictive once you do reach that rewarding part.
But if you slip, it can be just as hard to start it all over again. :endecided:

i hardly exercise, what i dont like about it is the pains i feel after. i know it is because i do it once in a while.:)
:lips:sexy:lips:

The pain means it's working.
Take good vitamins/supplements, stretch properly and eat well. The pain can be reduced.

i'm so glad i'm not the only one who get's annoyed about exercises.

Angel, i guess you've just given me a challenge, i'll start again now.

Diamond, you're lucky to have brother's to mortivate you and who know how tiring it can be when you are the only one around exercising.

am i selfish when i believe people should be mortivating me instead of just watching and calculating for me? and the pain afterwards is excurciating!

another question : is registering in a gym, the best way to get results or can exercise at home yield great results even with no trainer?

love to hear you r responses.. pls...!:saint:

I personally prefer to work at home.
I don't like working out in front of people anymore.

I used my high schools gym a lot, and then I bought a bowflex and now I've bought the newest version of the bowflex.

Some people can't work out with out pressure from a trainer, or pressure from other people being around them or watching them or they won't do their best.

Which ever you feel more comfortable with and which ever way will motivate you better.

I prefer working out at home, or by myself... or with people I'm comfortable with. I've never been to a gym and have no intention of going to one, I'm a firm believer in sports, dancing, outdoor activities and such rather than using machines to get into shape :endecided: they take the fun out of it for me.

I'd say where you choose to exercise should be based on your comfort level. Try going to a gym a couple of times, and try working out at home, then compare and see what you prefer and why.

I'm Starting My First Day at the Gym This weekend..and pretty excited.:)..Although I perfer exercising at home Just because I feel more comfortable and I could actually Get the job done Besides thinking "Oh,Am I running too fast.. would if I break the Machine lol..etc." .. But It depends on the person..

How can u not love excersise?
Its great fun but depends what you are doing....personally I would say to have fun while getting fit is to play a sport, team games are the best like basketball is a really gd sport to get u fit!

:muscle:

"team games are the best like basketball is a really gd sport to get u fit!"

I HATE team sports! :upset: Never been a good team player except with dancing, which isn't a sport. Maybe it's because the people I inevitably had to play with during gym classes were nasty nasty "cool" people and never helped anyone do anything, and complained loudly if the rest of us ever did anything wrong
Of course, it doesn't help that my natural instinct when seeing a ball flying towards me is to duck and flinch  I once tried to take up volleyball... it just didn't work out at all ;)

But I do agree with you on loving exercise, it feels great! well... so long as you actually enjoy whichever exercise you're doing :D heheheh..
