sing how do you go by getting copyrights for that song?
I were asked before to do a recording in a studio, to choose songs that i like
and he would get the recording background music to it.
(in the end bailed out he were a shady character)
After that it was hitting me that I couldnt sing he just wanted to use me for
something, and my friend is trying to convince me that I can, so he said to put
up a song here to be judged. But any my own songs always were just a mess with
my friends band and would have explict lyrics and they were normally deleted
after being made.
So how would I get the copyrights from someone to do a song just to put up here?Live life to the max and never look back!

the creator or to whomever purchases that copyright from the creator. In the
music industry, BMI and ASCAP are the two largest international corporations
that enforce copyrights on music. ANytime a song is played publicly anywhere,
whether in church, on the radio, TV, night clubs, elevators, etc. a royalty
payment is made to the owner. If you wish to use a song to dub over your own
voice, a contract needs to be negotiated with the owner for the restricted use
of the song.
You can find out who owns a song by looking at the copyright information that is
listed on every music package, whether CD, video tape, cassette or records.
Songs legally downloaded usually have copyright information embedded in the
audio file, most of which can be viewed by right-clicking and selecting
properties. Players like Windows Media Player and Real Player will also show
copyright information. Basically contact the copyright holder, describe in
detail what you wish to do and ask for permission.
Used to be in the United States that a copyright expired after a certain amount
of years and then anyone could pick up and use the work of art. However,
Congress voted a few years ago to change that and allow copyright holders or
their heirs to renew expired copyright.
There are also songs that have contracted for Karaoke. When these songs are
purchased, a percentage of the sale cost is paid in royalty permissions for
unlimited public use. Purchasing Karaoke CDs might be a simple option for demo
recordings. However, I would be certain to check both the laws in your country
and to thoroughly read the use rights printed on the package. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |
