What way is the best way to book a model, going through an agent or just going straight to the model??

ok then but as i am quite straped for cash, would it be cheaper to go straight to the model as you'll have to give the agency some commision or something

you are a beginner ... the best is, to upload some real examples of your work and then you can try to find some models for TFP / TFCD shootings ... for this you also need to find a stylist / visagist (also beginners) ...

serios agencies will not work with you befor they could see your book !!!

girl is paying a comission to her agency....depends for what u need a girl...u just need a model to shoot her for what?your book and her book at the same time...this u can get girl for free just give her pictures so she can have for her book....and u have for yours....in this case is ok and agency should be happy that u want to make a free test with some new face....in case u want girl to work for something u have to nagotiate about the money with the agency...so in these case u can choose the girl and so on, and so on....and probably if she is in the agency she have expirience....so is better for everyone.....

exactly u need to have your book first....so just make some free test with some beutiful girls and then u gonna get in to everything...

More and more it is becoming a matter of your preference between and agency and direct contact.

However, you still get better results going through an agency.

I do not understand why you posed your original question if you are strapped for cash. It would have been better had you stated that in the first place.

Websites like these are perfect for photographers strapped for cash. Though I personally dislike the concept of TFP/TFCD, modeling websites are havens for models willing to trade.

And that is likely going to be the route you have to take. I believe an agency is out of the question for you. You have to prove yourself to any respectable agency before they will release talent to you. They have a huge liability, not just in cash or in court, but also in reputation.

I don't know of any mainstream agencies that will welcome you doing a free test as was suggested above.

You have to pay your dues to be recognized. Too many people pop up out of the blue these days for agencies to just rent you talent based upon your calling them and asking.

There are plenty of models doing tfp in the U.K. Post a casting call, explain your terms, then await the responses.
