I saw an advert in a newspaper asking for Models and Extras so I thought I'll go
along and give it a go. However when I got to the place they gave me a piece of
paper stating a few of the folliwng things: 'this is a Management Company for
Modelling, Fashion, Catwork, Catalogue...', '£189.00 covers the cost of all the
photography and subsequent adminstration and is payable if you are selected',
'if we were to be unsuccessful in placing you with any agencies, we will be
happy to refund your money in full', 'we give you a money back guarentee unlike
most agencies!'.
Firstly, I was questioning about the payment as I thought that I should not be
paying any money for working in modelling. Secondly, isn't it better to directly
apply yourself to an agency rather than going through a management company?
Hello Diane.
It's to much money and it's better to place yourself in a company.
Otherwise I do the same ... I'm managing models and I get money for that. But
the money I get is for jobs, if the host a website in my network, it's for the
website and for photos they also have to pay sometimes.
A model is self emplojed and have to take her costs for photos, sed-cards and
other costs. A agency or a manager is a business partner.
But I never take money in advance - only for my serios work.
Have a nice day ...
Gerhard
Tomorrow must be the longest day because everything is scheduled on it
