hi people,

i dont know what forum to put this in and its seems a bit of a stupid question but what type and colour shoes can i wear with white pants? preferably summery type shoes because they are two summer type white pants......if it makes a diference they are D&G and DKNY pants....

ps oh and also what coloour can i wear as a top?

Hmm well this will depend on a number of factors! ie; your complexion! your hair colouring! What you personally feel suits you and are happy with! What effect you wish to create!

Wow I could go on forever!

Fashion and what is right is not a text book thing! It is re-written each day with different people!

I could give you my whole fashion trade examples of contrast! then I could say what co-ordinates! I could say what compliments or I could say what gives effect! Now you are the model go see what effect you can make!

Be creative! Go and create differing shots of you wearing your white pants and alternate shoes etc, then ask what's cool n what's not Ludovico!

It’s good to be creative, but with white pants you can wear ONLY classical white shoes. A top can be a different color, but it’s better when it’s white.

Oh ann you & I are going to dis-agree for the first time ' OH NO ' lol

I think last time I has white pants was many years ago, hey I'm a realist these days and being a single dad and white pants just can't happen!

But, I remember working in the west end of london at the time and wearing white pants with a deep green top and same colour italian shoes, it looked great!

This is only a minor dis-agreement Ann :D

well would wear anything BUT white for shoe color and for a top anything would work cept maybe a white shirt...thats difficult to pull off lol

My thoughts exactly! I just can visualise a 'SEA OF WHITES' ie shoes & trousers, having been in the clothing trade many years and to be honest with you it looks 'Dead Common' and bad taste!

Whites are so so hard to blend, there are so many shades and depths of White, consequently people have learn to blend other colours that are enhanced by the white!

Soften the look of Whites by using Maroon or deep Greens! Shock by adding vivid Cerise or Vermillion! Classic appearance with Royal blues! etc etc lol

The colour of shoes depends on style you follow at the moment. When I said “only white shoes” I was talking about classical style.
I don’t mind green shoes at all :)

Wow that's a lot of replies haha!

i didn't think anyone would care I was just going out when i posted this...

what i ended up doing (as the white pants(') were intended for beach wear) was the white pants with brown leather flip flops from A&F adn erm nothing on top haha!

but thanks for replying guys!

ps. both pants are now too white to wear as winter settles in (well in ireland at least haha) and also theyre too big aswell....

Ha Ha We surprised you here Ludovico! I kinda guessed that the pants were for casual beach wear, otherwise it would be a little like me having a white carpet at home with two kids lol - Not ideal for everyday use!

Black Sandals nice but that for people who like wearing sandals although it gives a more mature and responsible look i think it just exposes you toes.:doh:

But Black sandals on white pants sound good....:thumbup: it kinda reminds me of my school uniform when i was in Kings' College.:cantlook:

I kinda agree regarding the practicality of wearing White Pants in everyday life! As a single parent it aint gonna happen for me :lol:

Blue Boots yes! I have Mid Blue Timberland Boots and I would wear them against white!
But as you say in the other reply Oluwaseun it all depends on if it is a formal or casual look!
Formal would have to be Smart Black or Navy or similar Subtle colour shoes!
