How did I miss this subject for so long?

My high school graduation night. 29 May 1961. On the narrow seat of a Ford pickup truck, down a track into the woods off Route 421 in Sampson County, North Carolina. She was sweet and pretended it was her first time while I had what could only be described as an out-of-body experience.

There were mosquitoes buzzing all around. The gear shift and the steering wheel kept getting in the way. I had the good sense to bring and use a condom. It was the beginning of a summer of love, with hurried private moments, ridiculous situations, jealousies and a bit of heartbreak.

I wouldn't change a minute of it.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!
