camera phone. If you can't find someone to take pictures for you for free, how
can you expect people to pay you for modelling? My advice, get some professional
pictures in your portfolio. |

| Date: 2007-07-19 15:20 if you have friends who are in the industry, ask if they can refer a good
photographer to work with you to help build a basic portfolio or get your some
simple shots. start your gallery of images with head shots (front or side) along
with a full body shot or 3/4 length.
you can also try going to a legit agency in your city and ask for advice. you
don't necessarily have to sign with them, but getting answers from them will be
a big help!
if you decide to freelance, you have to know that you need to spend money to
make money! YOU are your biggest investment, and it's a lot of hard work, but if
you stick to it, it will work in the end!
all the best! |

you're interested in, and i think you'd protect THAT even more. ;]
This advice i'm posting is kind of a joke. |

you a job in the modeling career.. you must have pictures focused on your
features and assets.. the shots are too far and mostly hiding you.. |

I want to recommend that this forum be sent to models & "wanabee" models on this
web site, and future talent who post a profile.
The FIRST question I get asked by a model is "How much am I getting paid?" She
may have a few photos by GWCs, "Guys With Cameras" or FWP&SC "Friends With Point
& Shoot Digital Cameras. Or camera phone photos. Even better, "mall photo
studio" photos.
No experience. No clue what to do. Would not know a pose, or how, and what a
designer was "saying" when they created the item. Then they get MAD, INDIGNANT,
fill-in-the-blank-adjective when you tell them they have no experience, but you
are willing to help them start a portfolio ... and you will not charge THEM for
shooting great photos for them.
Most of my career, I have done whatever I could, to help newer people "live
their dream". Kinda payback for the mentors who helped me along the way.
I am planning, organizing, a benefit event to help models, new or experienced,
get some great shots, next month in the Philippines, and have written many of
the Philippine models/wanabees here on this site. All the talent/MUA's/stylists
AND sponsors are donating their services. The experienced models here
understand, and want to be a part of this gift. The "newbies" are less than
wonderful in their replies to me. As well as demanding this & that, I will or
will not do this or that, yada, yada, yada.
There should be a FAQ on modeling that is ... required ... READING for all
people who sign up here. It would save a LOT of time, and wasted energy, for all
involved. And teach some unexperienced people, POLITELY, what it takes, what is
the REALITY, of being a model...

on this one.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try! |

Hi Rian!
Wow it's hard starting out and hey you do not need professional pics, don't let
any aspiring photographer tell you that lol, but hey without that you do need to
focus more on you the Subject, get those pics shown as headsot close up! Full
body shot! Keep them clear crisp and of you in main focus!
Then when people ask about you and take an interest you know you are doing
right!
Ouch to the person that replied before me! Ok you can take pics, but you are not
gonna get your success by knocking your potential subjects like Rian here! Go
work for Tesco if you have that limited attitude!
Good luck and experimatent with many options Rian! |
