Not always photo shoot is going well, sometimes very exciting things could happen. It would be very interesting to know your funny or fearful experiences.

 well, i've yawned a couple of times during a fotoshoot.
:cantlook:

I've been with a friend singer to a editor, where he made his photo shots and soon to be the album distribution.
Happens that in the CD Layer, the middle circle was right on his nose. He hated it, and since they had already 2500 copies made, the editor hated the idea of changing it too, so the album didn't came out yet

Gabs
Flying in a Blue Dream

Fearful...thankfully it has only been a few times, was hanging off a very high building to get the shot...everything did turn out okay. The other was actually when I was an assistant. It was my first time to assist in a helicopter taped and strapped in wiith no doors so we could actuall hang out over the side.

I guess I just don't like heights!

But without a doubt the most fearful is equipment failure shooting a CEO when I only had 10 minutes with him. Luckily I had a good assistant and she got us up and runnning in time.

Funny experiences...too many to mention...

Plenty of shoots, often exciting, sometimes excitingly unpleasant.

I always fear of not pleasing my clients with the shots i made. Running out film is also scary when somethings comes up. i was also a little bit scared when i shoot the biggest powerplant in the Philippines in Pangasinan inside a helicopter, i have three cameras with me and has no assistant i got scared that i might drop my cameras sause i was also the one reloading them into the sea. Also when i shoot Toyota and their guest of honor is Mr. Toyoda himself my flash units crashed all 3 of them really bad luck i really got scared . Lot's of funny things..

I got blown out of the back of a boat doing over 90MPH once. I think that qualifies as exciting. Certainly made my day more interesting!

very interesting comments !!!!!!!!!!!

God.. thoses are soooo much better then mine!
My only exciting one was one in a pool below a waterfall and i was close to hypothermaia and kept slipping on the rocks
Howdy.I'm a 18 year old half asian from Ireland who really would love to get with an agency who can get her exposure or anything please look at my profile and get back to me :D

I know Cindy types too fast, but I can't help myself, I had to put this picture here for "the most EXITING photo shoot."
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

As far as fearful goes.
Usually it was the shows when you started seeing limp or dead bodies being carried away next to where you are standing.
And doing a select few live shoots from with in the mosh pit (my specialty talent!)

Exciting however... That's kind of hard. Most everything I did was exciting or at least a bit fun. It would be easier to name what was NOT a happy/exciting/good experience.

Blink 182 (Issues with the singer)
Ozzy/The Osbournes (I won't get into that one)
Pantera (Simply put the singer is a jerk)
Limp Bizkit (This one is personal... with the exception of the bassist.)

I'm not typically in the habit of dishing out the goods on every single word/photo ever shared between myself and another person so I apologize for the vagueness!
Everything I've done, and all that I have yet to do, is only to forget the meaning of your name.

I dont think i noticed that typo of "exiting" but i like that quote on the tombstone.. although i dont think i quite get it.
Would love to be able to do live gigs although i defiently would not like to be in a mosh pit while photographing, my luck id get shoved in and my camera and lens and everything will get broken

Cindy:
Oh I got many scrapes and bruises from legs, fists and elbows. Took a while for me to learn where to stand when to move when it was "safe" to try and take a shot and most importantly when to block. I started off with local bands and went to bigger and larger shows so I was well adjusted before playing with the big boys.
But I always saved my camera! No injury's there!

There are just some smaller venues where there is no photo pit so you have no option but to stand really far away and get all the fans heads in every shot, or you stand in the pit and get good shots. Obviously I went for the latter.
Other then that I would do it if I could not get to the middle of the photo pit. After things heat up, the security will sometimes keep you off more towards the side. Which is the reason why you will see a lot of live shots from pretty much anywhere, at an angle instead of straight on.

The only gigs I've really had a rough time at are ones I wasn't covering.
The shows where they began to carry limp or dead body's past me is right about when I started to wrap things up.

One, where due to my excessively baggy and ripped pants I got trampled into the dirt, just kinda curled up in a fetal position covering my head with my arms. While people jumped, stood on and kicked me.
The other was being dropped on the back of my neck onto a cement floor, and loosing my shirt and later my pants, all due to crowd surfing. That was a really fun show!! Though not typical. When I was working I wore more formal attire as I was usually busy hobnobbing with some important folk and not just messing around with the artist. I only did crowd surfing at that one show when I was about 13 or 14.

Years later I did end up covering both those bands more then once, went on a small tour with one of them.
Everything I've done, and all that I have yet to do, is only to forget the meaning of your name.

Well, I just repaired my mom's tombstone and took the picture, but it is a photo shoot of a Final Exit, of sorts.

No one gets my humor:upset:

Info: The Florida storms of 2004 caused the headstone to separate from the base and fall. I propped it back up, using small rocks to keep it level, but the ground under the base had softened and the base was tilting. My complaints to the management of the eternal care graveyard got no action, so I finally did it myself in time for the US celebration of Mother's Day. Coincidently, a relative found an old picture of my mom, which came in the mail yesterday.

Here she is at about age 20 or 21, when she was married to my dad in 1943 or thereabouts:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

HAHA yeh im really really accident prone, i dont mind getting hurt used to it haha.
It'd just be the camera getting broken that id fear. Dont normally head to concerts, can never afford them:lol::lol:
and ouchies, sounds painful :cantlook: and you were sooo small too!
Me no likey mosh pits though, i remember my friends camera got broken there and he had just gotten it for his birthday too, was one of those new ones that had just come out back then too. They were fun until someone pulled me out cause normally most in it were like two or 3 times bigger then me :(

I had gotten it Charles it just hadnt hit me cause i had thought it had actually said exciting lol.
Its a really nice tombstone too, really like that quote too.

Cindy:
Nowadays I refrain from going to shows for the most part. I have only ever had to pay for 2 or 3 shows out of the hundreds. The label covers entry for you.

Maybe it's just because I was a small girl but their were usually people looking out for me at the shows. Be it the security guards or the band members themselves.

Often the security would advise me to stay on the really far side or to stick right next to them in the press pit. I'd just look at them, smile and said "I'll be ok!"

I once left some equipment in a bands RV and the singer tracked me down through the crowd to give it back.

Back when I attempted to wear ear plugs they would always be falling out and usually the road manager would fetch them off the stage for me. So I gave up on those (wait... why am I deaf?)

On one of my first shows, some kid actually ripped my press pass right off of me, one of the security men back stage chased him, bringing him down to the ground to get it back. I didn't even ask, the man just did it. :dunno:

Really, the worst thing to ever happen to my equipment was a little rain.
Everything I've done, and all that I have yet to do, is only to forget the meaning of your name.

Thats kewl, maybe ill be lucky to get into shows without paying although as Ireland has been labeled "Rip-off IReland" i pretty much doubt that it can happen for me haha.

Yeh men at those sort of places tend to be pretty kind and like men in those ways. They try to be protective and such, i think more just to show off they can be tough men to the girl:muscle:

My most exciting photoshoot?

Dolphins. Damn dolphins! Cute at first. Loveable. Big break time when the dolphins came on the set. Five of them. Everyone was in their joy and delight, splashing and playing with the wonderful creatures.

Time to get back to the shoot. Open ocean photography is tricky, expensive and sometimes dangerous. Plus, you can never count on the sunlight to stay put.

Unfortunately, dolphins don't have very good work ethic. You ignore them, get everyone back into position and they start bumping people, trying to get their attention. You try to shoo them away. Them buggers are freaking strong! They ain't going nowhere. So, you try and work around them, pose model quickly, reset lights and floating boom. Smarty pants dolphins figure out who it is taking their playmate model away from them. They start swatting their tails in the water everytime I pick up the camera, spraying me or creating turbulance.

Sigh. Can't fight mother nature. OK, everyone...free day. Go play. I'll be in the boat crying.
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

Found them. Those disgusting dolphins. And they were laughing! Laughing I tell you! Look at those smug grins....

My uncle and I were out on the intercoastal water way one day many years ago. He was trying to cast a net to catch some bait shrimp. A dolphin was interferring by coming after the same shrimp. My uncle powered up the boat and tried chasing the dolphin. He had that kind of temper. Of course the dolphin had the advantage.

Then we came across a guy in a cabin cruiser who had fouled his propeller with a line. Couple of good-looking women aboard. The boat had drifted onto a sand bar. My uncle offered to help (mainly because of the women). Got in the water to try to cut the line off the prop.

Working away he was, cursing under his breath, bent over to reach the prop with his knife, but his head turned sideways and up to keep his mouth and nose above water. Zip, here comes the dolphin--puts his snout right between my uncle's legs and gives him a good sharp nudge.

I've liked the critters ever since. They may not be the only other animal with a sense of humour, but they the only kind I've seen that have the same as a human practical joker's.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!
