Rest Re-Assured> Good Point, Oluwaseun!;)
Well, that is certainly suitable for a photographer to specialize in certain types of photos,
e.g.: BL/WH, Artistic, Digital Remastery/Splicing, Scenic, Architecture, Landscape, Nighttime, Models Shots-- ONLY (VK=Various Kinds), Wedding, News/Media, Magazines, etc.
So what works for one may not be inline for another...:)
That's the 'beauty' of freedom of expression through photography--
& being the photographer--The pressure is to specialize in what category/ies one is engaged in.
At times, Photographers have a bit less pressure to do various situations--Unlike models themselves-- Who benefit from more diverse versatility in their portfolios, but can be in EXTREME demand for specializing in a specific field of operations, as well.
Don't misread this, however, because ALL areas of Talent with the CAMERA/Media have their stressors engaged--It is after all, a world full of vast competition, due to varying extremes of individual pursuits & naturally gifted persons.
Enjoy your 'artistic' passions, every1!:lips::lips:

PS Can any1 tell us why there seems to be more MALE photographers than women?:D

Ok. I made it. That is real me on the photo :D Unfortunately I would rather have
some of other photos of mine in the profile but... I cannot upgrade my account
from Poland where I live. Pity.

Anyway, as for Andromedas wonderings I think:

Here, in Poland we say, that female sex is the beautiful one (in opposite to
male one :)). There are more men who want to create pictures of women than
women.

I'd ask why women photographers don't specialize in taking artistic photos of men?
:) I think the above thought is the answer :)

The other thing about the attitude to what do we seek in photography is very
subjective, very emotional. And I agree with Andromeda with what she says
completly. I choose bw or colour film (or choose the way in photoshop) depending
on the idea I had before. Everybody has different attitude... that's all...

Greetz!

You are cool.
I know that men outnumber women as photographers but will tell you that it is changing year by year. I know several women photographers that could tell me a thing or two about photography.
On one of the other websites I belong to(where we are ranked by the work we submit) several of the top ranking photographers is women.

Deon

Well, I know some women photographers here in Poland, some of them work for
polish magazines and have good reputation. Among my favourite photographers
I have some women too, like Ellen von Unwerth, Sally Mann or Eva Rubinstein. What are yours?

mil

Your work is good. I really like the picture "I love snow" :D
* Love the Life* :thumbup:

I love the Witch photo. Great shot. I have a sense of deja-vu (sp?) as I looked through them. Have some of these images been published elsewhere? Or have you gotten inspiration from some published work? Or is it just the voices in my head trying to confuse me? JK.

Oh, I forgot about the "more men as photographers" thing.

If you are inclined to believe sociologists and gender behavior based on hunter/gatherer lifestyle being evolutionarily reinforced the explanation is as follows:

Males are the hunters, ergo more visually oriented. Females are the nurturers, therefore more emotionally sensitive.

Just what I have read.

Hey,

Well, the "witch" photo happened accidently when we where coming back
to the "base" after taking the other picture... The girl just turned to me
and I saw the picture :) "Stay where you are!" :) I said.

Unfortunately I didn't publish much... none of the photos shown on Jurgita
were published...

:dunno:

about the other thing, such explanations are often too general :) but
still I guess there's some truth in it :)
