| Date: 2007-09-16 20:23 I notice that new members are still somehow able to post BLOGS @ Jurgita prior
to their accounts being verified!
I would suggest that this Very Un-Safe! The new member could perhaps never
verify their account or even be not approved here, yet their BLOG would have
been already read by many here!
I mentioned an example a few months ago that appeared as a new event on many
pages for days here, it was someone un-verified suggesting that pre-teen models
go to a venue with the times and date stated within the blog - The person
submitting the blog was not verified and constant checking showed the same
daily! I believe they never were verified or became an active member!
I would suggest that this would be an area to be looked into by Jurgita not just
from a Child Safety point of view but to guard against outside Scammers!
Spammers & Advertisers with no intention of being active members yet using the
opportunity to BLOG!
In addition it is an annoyance to regular members that have added BLOGS which
show for a while at the BLOG PAGE here but then get booted out of site and
position by un-verified BLOGS!

within it another new member also un-verified placed an advertisement
reply!
Perhaps this hiccup/problem area has been ammended since my initial posting? I'm
not sure but to me it was an area of concern for us at Jurgita!

anyone can read. It was seen on the front page for many hours this afternoon. Is
that corrrrect--it was later removed? I certainly hope so. I truly believe that
an eleven year old should probably not even be on this site due to the graphic
nature of some photos and discussions that have happened here in the "not so"
far off past. Is there an age limit?--We must draw the line somewhere! 11,--she
is a baby and needs to be involved with girl scouts, slumber parties etc. And,
is she not more vunerable than the others due to her age? I scares me as a
parent that this is happening in today's world. And that we often chose to
ignore it.................. |

Most of the kids that is really young I presume is anyway represented either by
their parents or an Agency.
Thing is how can anybody know the true age of an applicant except to take their
word for it.
Also where do you draw the line, 12yrs or 16yrs or 18yrs.
Most young people looking at this site will expect it to be a "clean" site and
so it should be.
I cannot see a young person under say16yrs actually "make" it as a model without
their parents consent, that will be mission impossible. They can join the site,
post some photo's taken with their webcam or cellphone, post in the forums ect.
But that these ones will ever actually go for a shoot or find a
photographer/agency that is willing to shoot them without their parents consent
I do not think.
The very few posts I have seen from a young 12yr old were a bit out of line from
the girl herself but she was gently pointed out these facts by several adult
members.
I cannot say that I recall seeing any other posts and I think even this certain
young lady stopped posting after being reprimanded.
So yeah maybe this site is good medicine for them. Problem is lets hope she has
not gone to another site now where the members are not so cool.

moderation because it clearly showed her nipples through a thin cloth. A plump
little blonde from Australia who'll "do anything a photographer wants" along
with a middle-aged "friend" requesting more "pics."

the blog remains. Perhaps Jurgita can do something about that.

models and clients seeking models, it needs to be able to serve those seeking
legitimate contacts.
I've no problem with parents of photogenic children trying to market that
quality as long as it is done responsibly and with age appropriate pictures. It
behooves all of us to keep plugging away at responsible activity here.
I'm no prude and I have no objection to adult nudity labeled correctly and with
warning. I've no objection to commercial tearsheets of teenage models that
seemingly sell sex because it is the reality of the market we deal with and we
would be fools if we did not admit that teenagers both engage in sexual activity
and buy products that seem to condone such activity. It is not our place,
however to permit the display of self-made teenage nudity or sexuality just
because the kid wants to.
We should advise them to act professionally and to consider what they display
and I've begun to either reject or accept borderline pictures in my moderation
with notes to the submitter telling them why I reject or why I consider it
borderline. So far the response has been good. I may be violating Jurgita
procedure, however.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

this site should not be allowed to be posted at all. Maybe we need a kind of
"policeman" on this site that can check every now and then in the child section
for un-desired photographs/blogs that have been posted by our under-aged fellow
members. 
A few warnings then banishment from the site if the warnings is not heeded
Maybe their photos should first have to be approved before posting them is
allowed |

Yes, we are on the right track here. I remeber there is this 15 year old (I
think that's how old she was) that had pics in a pink night gown. (yuck--just my
opinion--not professional by any means) They were not appropriate for a child.
This kid was brought up several times and the argument was made that they were
ok. Well, they were NOT! I don't believe there is a parent in the world that is
going to allow that "crap". (excuse me!) I have seen little girls in
photos--especially the one I just mentioned--that had pics like they are pulling
their panties off. I was shocked and quite upset to see those. "Common guys", if
I can see them plainly, so can the moderators and people who own this site.
Let's say goodbye to all of those who partake in this in ANY manner. It
certanily has improved over the last month ---------but we are far from done
cleaning house! |

Shields, mother of Brook and the Playboy pictures?
You aren't going to cure the problem of them submitting those types of pictures
until you get rid of MTV and its clones. Have you seen Showtime lately?
And we are dealing with the whole world here, not just the US. The sincere and
potentially capable kids from eastern Europe and the third world countries seem
more capable of presenting themselves nicely than many of the US and UK kids.
The UK has the "Page 3 (or 2)" girls as a prime example for their youth.
We do what we can, but we aren't going to reform our culture from Jurgita's web
site. See what you can do about Hollywood, too.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

happen. People like Martin Luther King have proven this to be true. It is always
possible. It simply takes a good cause and enough people that are fed up. It is
happening in the modeling world right now. Models were told they were too thin
for the catwalk and could not work unitl they me the staus quo in weight. One
voice-- maybe not. But when there are many voices change takes place.  |
