will be fun, I think. And it should be only for fun. Like maybe we hold a
contest that should submit only one photo with the chosen theme... Plus some
notes of how the photoshoot session was going... People should vote for their
favourite. Like that? You've made a board for contests and why don't we use it?

from your current port and the winner is the person that submits the most
improved pic. This way all models new and experienced can participate and
everyone will focus on improving . Whether you win or not, at least you should
have a better port at the end of it.
btw posting a really crappy pic at the beginning in order for you to select it
as your starting point in not allowed. Maybe the judges should choose the
starting pic. |

If a good idea is said and approval of the community given, than its not hard to
make a contest
Now we need the idea of the theme and if anything else should be added, like
questions, photo description or any other things. Lets discuss in this topic i

I think best expression would do...eg wen u submit a photo then u shld indicate
wat u intended to express ie fear, happiness, shock, sadness etc then everyone
can vote which photo is best expressed. The photo shld as well be of th person
who is posting.
The funniest photo is not a bad idea but it might divert from modelin since pple
might end up posting all sorts of pics. Again I think it will b more
advantageous to the photographers than models which aint fair ...ofcourse as a photographer u hav some funny pics u took somewhere but as
for me it might b quite hard.

I’m absolutely for contest. But I’m not sure theme of humor is a good idea:
as for me this is quite hard to sink up a funny phrase or picture, just try and
understand – it’s much easier to compose beautiful picture than the funny
one.

1. The picture of you from head to chest, and make the funny face! The theme is
'funy face'. But it should be make-up-ed, and not just a simple funny face...
Like, we have to make it interesting. But without accesories like clown nose!?
So the voters will see the real funny face not the funny accesories face
2. Models should 'shoot' a new photo, not old photos from their port.
3. Allowed to use photoshop only for background?
Well I'm giving this idea because I think models should be able to act in front
of the camera. Even if you're not a funny person, more a serious one, a model
should be able to 'give' what the competition wants to see. Me myself is more a
serious person, but I love the idea of funny face.
And another idea.
4. Because this is only for fun, let's delete the 'judges' part. Let the voters
vote their favourite 'funny face'.
5. Hmmm when will it begin? The first day of October will be good I think? And
the models allowed to submit their photos for 2 weeks? And lets make sure that
this time this contest go great! Don't worry about how many participants there
will be. This is only for fun!

earlier than your times, I guess. I'll start the new topic on Contests! board at
1st October in my time. With rules, etc. Well actually I am with the 2 weeks
too. 2 weeks more for the voting time. That makes it a month. But really! We'll
have to work together to make this contest a better one. Tell your friends,
etc... what do you think, guys?
@Rasa: Well I guess make up and without make up would be up to the participant.
But surely everyone wants to look best. So let's just let the voters vote for

And Funny face is a great and timely topic considering that right now
advertising is targeting a market whose purchasing power responds more to
light-hearted, witty almost slapstick humor in promotional material.
But one thing: We shouldn't have contests for contests sake. The contests should
have a purpose and goal other than just increasing participation on the site. We
talk about the majority of members not being interested in the contests. Truth
to tell...what is to interest them? Some minor, short-term exposure from being
in the contest? What true professional benefit accrues from winning or placing
in a contest?
Articles are fine. Upgraded membership is cool. The Winner Banners are
wonderful! What would be great is a pre-announced prize above and beyond the
constraints of the site.
This site has loads of photographers, agencies and even publishers. Increased
visibility of the site and members is a plus to us all. My suggestion is that
Jurgita engage in collaborative efforts with photographers, agencies, etc. local
to the area of the winner to provide a substantial prize.
It doesn't have to cost Jurgita anything monetarily. Member loyalty can provide
for cooperative prize giving.
Say the winning model is in Paris, France. Jurgita contacts a member
photographer in France to provide a photo sitting for the winning model. Perhaps
Jurgita can offer a VIP membership to the photographer as compensation for their
time. Perhaps a sitting with an member agency? A page spread with a member
publisher? A make-over with a member MUA. The possibilities are endless with a
little creativity, imagination and member collaboration. These things can be
arranged in advance so that where ever the winner, Jurgita already has a
pre-arrangement with with a local provider. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should  |
