Cant decide between Sony DSLR-A100 and canon D400
Love to Love

if you have budget go for canon otherwise sony canon lens with stabilisers are expensive

and sony has been in the ccd business far apart from the rest

For Pro i suggest Nikon d2x and Canon's mark2 and 5d

And you use?

well i find more honest colour with Nikon though.

There are many type of Pro photographers for sports they use long lenses and image stabilisers are great help and also the mag factors 1.5 to 1.6 helps the lens for more power. In portrait and fashion details are the must so high resolution are recommended like mark II, nikon d2x kodak has also a high resolution back for nikon and i heard that fuji is going to launch a new camera. For cover of magazines half frames will do like nikon d200 and d100, canon 10d 20d 30d, fuji pentax minolta sony also have their versions. For wedding nikon d2x and canon's mark II and 5d are highly recommended although half frames can also deliver but shooting wide angles are limited. under water photography well i don't even know how to swim so i never thought of this area but i think nikonos is the camera for this. For large billboard medium format digital are often used.

In the film line up it's another story.

If you are going digital, you have to make hard choices. However Canon actually makes the best digital sensors and leads the pack in resolution. All digital images, whether made by Canon, Nikon or Sony, etc., are software controlled as far as color goes.

Also, as I've commented elsewhere, if you really like a special lens from another manufacturer, Canon EOS mount can take adapters to fit virtually all other brands. You revert to totally manual operation, however.

Below an informal portrait taken with Canon 5D in available light
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

Photo software programs can do super things , keep that in mind when
making camera choices.

Good Luck!

what fits better in your hand, which one has a better interface for useage, go to a camera store and get help from some of the professionals there

I have a saying . If in doubt, go to a camera shop and try several. Someone may tell you that the Nikon F100D is the best camera on the market, and when your order comes in, you may find that you hate it. Don't be afraid to go to a camera shop and keep the salesman tied up for a while. Try many cameras. The right camera for you is the camera that feels right for you.

Have fun and keep shooting,
Mark H.
