| Date: 2007-10-16 05:41 I am currently living in Australia where I model occasionally. I am looking to
build my experience and wanting to head to Japan.
I am actually going on a family holiday there for three months starting in late
December this year and would love the chance to model whilst there.
I do have some experience in modelling and have a port folio. I have contacted
numerous agencies and scouts in both Australia and Japan and am not getting much
useful information.
Can someone please help me with who I should be applying through or ways others
have been able to achieve a similar dream!
I am a very professional person and it is my dream to be able to model overseas
and travel.
Any input will be much appreciated!

that are closer to the town u'll be staying then u can visit them personally
when you are there. The ones which are far u can try sending ur portfolio, dont
forget to mention about the months u'll be in Japan otherwise they might
consider it as an international application.
Also make sure u have the documents required for u to be able to work while
there. In most cases u r not supposed to do any type of work while on a tourist
visa and if at all u dont have the permits n all that u might get urself into
trouble
A word of Caution: When contacting the photographers make sure you see their
work first..sometimes it can be such a disappointment considering not everyone
that has a camera is a photographer.
I wish you all the best |

Very very true words and good advice.

| Date: 2007-10-17 23:08 Thank you for your responses! i have been trying to contact agencies in japan
but have been finding it hard to get a response! and i dont know what the good
agencies are!
I am applying for an work visa that will allow me to work as a model, i need to
have some company first though or some work. I have been told that there are
some quite doggy contracts out there, like the fact that they pay for everything
and as soon as you get paid they take everything? Also the fact that they might
just send you home without notice etc etc. Has anyone experienced this or heard
of anyone who has?
I am flexible with travel dates, i am willing to leave whenever i can find some
good work! i will not let an opportunity to go by.
Again thank you for your replies and i hope to keep getting them.
