Beware Of The Money Order Scam

There are people out there sending used money orders to models, telling them to deposit them into their accounts and then to wire the money minus their salary to a overseas or local photographer. My advice is to call Money Gram, get the 800# and verify that these Money Orders are valid. I received 3 genuine looking money orders and guess what they were genuine except for the fact that there was no 800# on them to call and when I did call the 800# they had all been cashed already 3-8 months prior to me receiving them!

I appreciate that you are warning people of this scam but cannot understand why you would want to change a money order for cash for somebody in the first place, although the mention of the model deducting her salary first from the amount suggests that a model is getting the money orders in exchange for work done. This will not be a scam then but fraud I would think and the said model should then lay a criminal charge against the suspect.:dunno:

This scam has been around for a really long time. If I remember right it was even on Good Morning America a while back. ( morning news show)
