going? If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try! |

he shoots tight with long (tele) lenses. Long lenses flatter and wide angles
distort. Now the distortion can be good if done right, but for most commercial
work lenses between 70mm and 200mm are best for portraiture and fashion
shots.
I'll give you an example of a good wide angle, one of my granddaughters taken
with a 28mm equivalent (17mm on a Canon XTi) on Christmas morning, waiting for
present opening time:If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

portrait perspective:If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

digital and an amateur. It should be a cooperative venture. The shooter might
want to try some artsy shots, which would be OK if you also get the stuff you
need.
One more of Courtney LeRoux, in N. Ireland. Guess what focal length:If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

your advice!! I'll take notes of everything you said and pass to him. Thank you
so much for your advices once again!! As for the focal length... well...I told
you I know nothing about photography. . but I guess it's something about 70mm... I
guess...
P.S.: your granddaughters are really cute! Congrats! |

ID: 183878 Posts: 1181 | Date: 2007-11-13 21:25 That was a trick question. The thing is, used appropriately, any lens can
flatter. It doesn't hurt if the model is gorgeous, like Courtney. In the picture
above, I was using a zoom lens at a wide angle setting, basically I moved back
until I liked the perspective I saw in the viewfinder and I framed with the
zoom, which was recorded in the data file as 33mm, meaning that with the
APS-sized Canon XTi it was equivalent to 52mm or normal for a 35mm full-frame
camera.
Yes, the girls are great models--when they want to be. I gave them cameras for
their birthdays and they are more interested in shooting than posing right now.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
