Date: 2007-11-21 07:44 Wish I could speak for the UK, but the educational system there is different
than here. IN the US we have private colleges and universities, state colleges
and universities and local community colleges and two-year colleges and
technical schools. Many of them have courses or programs of study in
photography.
The problem is where to locate them. What department of the school is
responsible. I've had a course taught in the science department, courses taught
by art departments and two and a half semesters of technical training. You have
to contact the schools in your area and see what is being taught.
The other tried and true method is your local newspaper. Usually they employ
photographers and they often have private projects they like to shoot and may be
looking to upgrade their portfolio. If so, then you might be able to trade
posesfor pix.
When I was in the early stage of my career, I had high hopes of moving on to
better things and shot every photogenic girl I could find to make up a glamor
portfolio that would take me to the big time--never happened--but it was fun and
all the models got copies of their work.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try! |
