Can the jurgita admin post contests with real prizes to encourage members to sit up in whatever field they're into(models, photogs,etc)? I mean contests that will make the models better models, photogs more professional,etc.
Maybe the competition will make us more serious and skillful in this industry.
What do you guys think?

I think getting jobs and getting paid is a contest enough - and if all you are looking for is faint praise from people on here, then a competition isn't what you need... it's a career change.

Seriously, are you in this for praise? Or for the love of the art and the money???

If you're like me it's a mix of the three LOL.

I have always done jobs and I thought a contest would be a little fun. A contest judged by the admin will be challenging. Not just for the "praise", but for the prize too.

So what would be in it for the admin/site???

"Here's a bunch of money/prizes for trying harder - at what you should be trying hard at anyway!!!"

I can't see the pay off for them... People put new pics up anyway, photographers, models, etc... all trying their hardest...

There are art competitions... why do we need the admin here to worry about that, I mean, hey have a job and it's making the site run smoothly and keeping the creeps out - and that seems like a hard enough task.

Plus there are all sorts of problems to do with proving an image is new, or even that it's yours... Do you have different catagories for film vs digital, photoshopped vs raw etc... Where does it end? How about best pic taken with your web cam or mobile phone hahahahaha... I can imagine a few entries in that one.
