You're doing fine. Get involved and participate in the forums. That is how
people will get to know you and how you publicize yourself.
Browse the forum, pick up topics that catch your fancy or create topics of your
own! Some of our discussions give the nitty gritty info on the business. Others
are dun and light hearted. We play games, tease each other, advise and critique
each other and basically have a ball socializing.
It is also how you will get to know photographers work and reputations, talk to
scouts and agency personnel directly, and make yourself available for shoots.
You can advertise your availability for TFI (trade for images) or for pay.
Take advantage of the system. That is what it is here for.
Some nice, friendly and helpful people you can talk to: Lucia, a very active
model here. Cindy Hui, she models, isn't as active anymore, but still pops on
line. She started with no experience and has pushed herself to advance. There's
Cheryl Clark...her mom guides her through the maze of modeling and also
participates on the site...our watchdog against creeps and perverts. Mike Jones,
Charles Griffin and ArteMaxx are some reputable photographers who regularly give
good advice, tips and pointers. We cannot forgot photographer Adi and his
favorite model deux jour, Rahirza. There is Catherina Kurnia who just yesterday
stunned us all by showing us some new and fantastic work, expanding dramatically
on her modeling style. She's also closer in age to you and might make a good
chat buddy. And our soldier of fortune, mistress of all, dominatrix of the turn
of phrase and a lady we all love, Mystique Eyed Pheonix and Andromeda IV. Model,
singer, performance artist, poet, dramaticist. You name it. Lively, spirited and
indefatigable.
So...go ahead...make friends.
Your photos are wonderful and refreshing. Snap shots though, but not for long I
will bet. They show a very attractive individual with lots of potential for
different types of photo work. You should soon have neighboring photographers
falling over themselves to shoot your for commercial work. Well, if they are
smart, at least.
I noticed, though, that you dropped a couple of your earlier photos and replaced
them with two others. Any reason for the deletions rather than just adding?
Didn't like the other two? I thought they were fine. I do like the new ones
though.
Oh, yeah, one other thing: There's me but I talk too much. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |

Welcome to Jurgita. Yeah Carib (Karl) talks a lot. But pretty much everything he
says is worth noting.
I like the pics you have posted. Karl referred to them as snapshots but I think
the first and last ones are better than a snapshot classification. These are so
much better than what we generally see from new comers. Most start off with self
portraits taken from their web cam or cell phone. You are already well beyond
that level. One note about posting pics, try to give them a unique name or
number, that way anyone wanting to comment on them has something to
reference.
You have a beautiful youthful face and good figure and it seems like access to
someone who knows how to take photos. I think the next step for you to advance
in your modeling career is to learn a variety of poses. There are a lot of good
books that teach posing. You can find them on Amazon for around $25.
You definitely have what it takes to belong in the industry, Although your
height will limit you to only certain types of work. (Too short for runway). How
far you go will depend on how badly you want it.
In answer to your question, "yes" you can be everyone's friend. Like Karl said
we are a friendly community, every now and then we get a few creeps come by and
we do our best do weed them out. Sheri Clark possesses a creep radar , if you do get
approached by anyone inappropriately or get offers that appear too good to be
true then let Karl or Lucia know they are moderators and will know who to
contact.
We look forward to seeing you as an active member of our community. Have fun.
Regards Mike |

ID: 182744 Posts: 1589 | Date: 2007-12-15 16:37 Mike is right. It was poor word choice for me to say snapshot. They are not. I
think the more accurate word would be portraits?
Yes, what you came with is 1000% better than the cheese other newbies slap up
and call a portfolio.
Your images are outstanding in that they show you off and advertise you more
than appropriately. Who wouldn't want to shoot with you after that
presentation?
I used the wrong word when what I wanted to get across was that I believe you
should be doing more than just portraits and that I think you could maneuver
into commercial shooting quite easily. And you've made that first step by
posting bright, crisp images of yourself.
Next time I will try not to type when I am tired, even though I am tired now and
shu=ould shut up.
Thanks, Mike, for catching and correcting me. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |

Hi Carib & Mike, only my default photo was taken by a pro the next two were just
snapshots and the rest were cut out from the proof copies.
Can I change the last photo in my profile with the same pose only with a real
copy without affecting the vote score. I accidentally deleted the previous
photos 'coz I didn't know what I was doing. I'm still figuring out things. Can I
post them back again in my profile? Pls. help so next time I know what to do. |

I think if you repost the same picture that the votes get reset. Jurgita
allocates a unique id each time you post an image and the votes are attached to
that id. |

usual. Your votes, however, are lost. Don't worry, though. I am sure visitors
will get your vote count up again soon enough.
And stay away from the delete button unless you mean it. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |

Welcome aboard I must admit u look stunning in ur pics and
oh back ur question..yes u can have as many friends as u want..just be cautious
to build friendships which will help you advance in ur modeling.
I can see above u have started getting the right contacts. Karl & Mike helped me
grow and still do <as far as modeling is concerned>. Am sure they could
help u too. Altho Mike prefers to say he is an amateur..many will admit to th
fact that he is a pro and Karl well he is just awesome. While here u'll continue
meeting more & more people just try and get the right connections..by right I
mean people who can help u..agencies, photographers and scouts.
As for now..u could use Jurgita to search for photographers around ur area and
see if u can have some pictures done. If possible on TFP where u dont have to
pay. Again be careful tho..not everyone who owns a camera is a photographer.
Well Kathy..I wish u all the best...hope to see you around and if there is
anything I can do for you feel free to ask |

I can't believe you just posted a self portrait. Or at least it looks like a
self portrait. Maybe its a snapshot taken by someone else. Either way, after the
comments you received about you starting off better than most, with your great
images, then you go and post this image. I realise that you are keen to get
known and get some more pics up, but you need to go with quality over quantity.
You set the bar quite high and new images that you post need to be at least as
good, but preferably better than anything you have done before. This is a big
step back in my opinion. We know you can do better than this.

Okay, I'll try harder next time and be more selective about what I post. Thank
you for your critique. I have just fired my mom as my photographer. |
