Do you think itll be good to find work without being in an agency? Im just starting out and might go for agencys in 2008.. what do you think?

hmm...agencies can get you work, and help you be better, do better and in agencies you learn more new things so i dunno, but at the end of the day you can find work with out an agency but very few people do.:)

Someone told me that if you can find personal manager for yourself agencies is not a good choice. Well but how to find that manager I don't know. LoL.
Visit my website! It's HERE :lips:

You can find plenty of work without agencies... I suggest trying the local Starbucks.

Seriously, it depends if you want to find work internationally, or just make do in the local scene.

Most models who work locally will have a second job. So maybe the Starbucks isn't such a bad idea.

As for having a personal manager... this more suits actors who are going for more commercial roles and parts in movies etc... And a good agency can look after these things for you too.

....in the city where I live there were only 2 known agencies/schools.:( I went to one of them but it doesn't help me at all. ..... I think it is good to have an agency if you live in a big city.....otherwise find some sources from internet....just like here in jurgita.:)

As Romeo said, personal managers are more suited to actors ... or dancers, or people who have already made a name for themselves.

I would suggest visiting some agencies. But first make sure that you have the best chance possible of being accepted - do some more photo shoots & get some more professional looking photos done, so you can march in there with a good-looking portfolio ;)

Alternatively, if an agency really likes your look they may give you a chance, and be able to suggest some photographers you should work with to build your book.

But I say it's best to be well prepared... Find some good photographers in your area & shoot as much as you can, so that you're armed & ready when you walk in the agency doors ;)

Then you should go & visit the other one! Don't give up ;)

But as I've said, you need to give yourself the best chance possible. So do some more photo shoots & try & get some more professional looking photos

In my town there are NO agencies. You gotta go to the next town over or the nearest big city that has an agency. The advice above is exactly what you should do.. Better pics are a must-- you can even get someone to do them for nothing if you search around... Hope this helps a little

;)

Cute pics Cheri! ... I really wish I could see more than 5 pics on people's profiles (without having to pay for membership) :(

It sucks that you can't choose which 5 are visible too, so you don't know that you're viewing the best.

Thanks

Yes, I often wish I could see more of some of the models here! (I learn quite a bit that way)

:pleased:
