Ok.

MIKE JONES, stuck on a sand bar on the frigid Atlantic Ocean, claims his home of Bermuda has better beaches than the American Paradise, the Number One Cruise ship destination, the Number One Wedding Destination in the U.S., the proud holder of two world class top ten beaches, the location for countless movies, television shows, commercials and Sports Illustrated Swim Suit Editions, the land that greeted Columbus and stopped him from sailing further west, the one, the only, the all-time Beautiful Beach Champion...the Virgin Islands!

Yaayyyyy! :muscle: Yayyyy! :muscle: Yaayyyyy! :muscle::muscle::muscle:

Here we shall hurl beach bombs at each other. Here we will throw sand in each other's eyes, dunk each other's heads under the water and fire coconuts back and forth. Here, the loser will collapse exhausted into fluffy white sand, staring unfocusedly up at a rich blue sky while a model leans over to perform CPR.

WAIT! That should be the winner's prize.

OK. That can be hashed out later. You, the Jurgita members, decide. As beach scenes fly, you tell us which you prefer and why.

For now...a preemptive strike. Wham! Take that, Mike! :D
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

Oh, Crap. Image did not upload. Let us try again. Not exactly and auspicious beginning, huh? :dunno:
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

What the????? Try a third time. Mike, you sabotaging the server?
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

Nope. No waves...

Sydney infact, most of the East Australian Coast has it nailed for a full on mixture of quaint Mediterrainean Style alcoves, Hawaii style Big surf, and VIRGIN style Islets and tropical oasis'.

Australia - Worlds biggest Island.

Cala Compte in Ibiza desevres a mention though... as Riely said when we got of the glass bottomed boat and rounded the rocks:

"How F*%King beautiful is this!?!?!?!"

Indeed it was and is.

Phi Phi in Thailand, of "the beach" fame, also deserves a nomination.

Just looking through some random sites - man there are some places to visit out there...

Ok lets get a couple of things straight. Are we talking photos taken by you and me or by anyone. I totally agree that with all your experience that you are far more likely to pull off the better image. And are we talking about St Thomas US VI or all 3 of your islands. I'm thinking St Thomas only since the others are not easily accessible without an hours travel by boat or plane at a cost of about $50+.

btw The travel channel has already started us off. Link. Of all the beaches in the Caribbean region they recommend Horseshoe Bay Bermuda and Trunk Bay and St John Bay US VI (both on St John though, non in St Thomas) So now I assume you are going to insist we include St John too.

Here is one that I took. That's my niece and nephew in the pic. Oh and all the other people, well there aren't any. This is Warwick Long Bay famous mostly for its pink sand.

Finally, none of these images have had any edits other than maybe cropping

Here is another shot that is more zoomed in.

And further zoomed so you can appreciate the beautiful fine sand. No big stones here.

Now let me show the viewers one of the beaches in VI that I was taken to. Don't let the beautiful model put you off.

Honeymoon beach in VI was ok but there were a lot of stones and it was pretty short. It looked much better when there was a topless model there.

Back to Bermuda,

Then there is the world famous horseshoe bay. I took this in mid afternoon at the height of the summer. Luckily for us residents, the tourism industry is in decline, Bermuda is too expensive for the average Joe to visit, so our beaches tend not to get very crowded.

How about John Smith's Bay. I took this during a 15 minute helicopter ride that cost $400.

This is Shelly Bay and although its not a particularly popular beach, nor is it one of our best and nor is the pic very good. But it is 5 minutes walk from my house !!!

Once upon a time, there was the world's most famous beach:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

It had everything you could ask for:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

From rocks and surf (not to mention shark bites)...
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

But urban vistas and colorful days and nights:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

It was a great place to start building sand castles:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

But time, tides, developers and hurricanes have made it as fleeting as a child's dreams:
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

One of the many small coves along south shore.

One more and I'm done for now.
