option expire on the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Justice
League property. The movie was to explore the relationship between
Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, The Green Lantern, and other
DC Comics characters as they confronted a threat that takes all of
their powers combined to defeat. George Miller, the director of Mad Max,
was signed on to direct, and most of the principle and supporting roles
were already cast. Weta effects studio was deep into design work and
preliminary effects testing, and most of the actors had flown out to
Australia to begin shooting.
But now the plug has been pulled. Allegedly the script was too messy
to start filming, and they can’t get it fixed until the writers strike
is over. Also, the Directors Guild and Screen Actors Guild are both set
to start negotiating with the movie studios, which could create even
more labor problems. The cast has been told to hang on, but their
contracts are now void, and many might not be available whenever, if
ever, the production of Justice League ever starts up again.
The original summer 2009 release date has now vanished, and the years
after are crowded with big super hero sequels. Looks like the project

loved to see it in film.
Do you thing I can crash the picket line as a scab writer? I know all the
