I think it's so unfaif for so many girls and boys all over the world, that they are not given a chance in modeling especialy, just because they have a few pounds too much or just because they not high enough. And happends that theese people sometimes are much more atractive or even beautiful, there people that have all needed measurements, but no beauty.
What I'm saying is:Give them a chance, who knows maybe they are dreaming about somebody give them a chance to shine even for a sec.
Every body deserved for a five min. of fame.
Thanks,
Eva.
Hi my name is Eva i'm25 and from Poland but from two years i live in Dublin,Ireland.
I'm new here and very interested in sophisticated, glamour and artistic athmosphere of photos. In my opinion something that's covered(hidden)sometimes is more interesting than NUDE and visible one.
Please check my prortfolio.
Kind Regards,
Eva K.

So, you believe we turn people away out of spite?

This is not the first time your suggestion has been made and countered on this site.

I will give you just a few logical points why your contention is erroneous and your suggestion impossible to achieve.

1) There is a casting call for a modeling position. 100 models show up for to audition for one slot. Do we feel sorry for the other 99 and give them jobs too? Where is the money to come from to pay for that?

2) Marketing and promotion is a science. It uses psychology in a manner decades ahead of the psychiatric profession. Marketers know your Pavlovian response. Marketers know how to ring your bell. Marketers know what type of model image provokes the greatest response among greatest number of people...whether in a niche market or a global one. We do not hire you because we like you. If we liked you we would ask you out on a date not a photo shoot.

3) Glamor is a different industry than commercial or fashion modeling but still has to abide by the same scientific marketing principles. That market is more forgiving of not using the most perfect model available but likely only because such a huge amount of content is required for glamor.

We do not give chances. The money side of a marketing failure is too enormous. Each model must find his or her niche to model within. Some people change themselves physically to fit the role. But the bottom line is that creating a supermodel is not as simple as someone saying: "My God, She's beautiful! Let's sell her to Laureal." Training, promotion, traveling, lobbying, grooming and more are all enormous expenses that either a scout or agency pays gambling that their prodigy will return amounts higher than invested.

Find your modeling niche and promote yourself to exhaustion like every serious model does. But whining and bellyaching is not going to get you the sympathy job. No one likes a whiner.

(By the way...I know a girl from St. Thomas and now in L.A. who makes an excellent living as a background office worker/clerk in several currently running TV dramas. She found her niche. Not star quality, but by now she has been in more shows than the mega stars. The audience rarely notices she is there, but she carries home six figures.)
:cantlook: Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should

Now geeze.. If I said that you all would have thrown an ax at me!

Karl-- as always your on point and accurate in what you say. Thanks, it is appreciated!

:D

The modeling industry is just very competitive- the agencies want the best of the best. And if what they are looking for is a skinny model, or a model with a certain look, that's the type of person they will hire. There's really nothing we can do about it, but I feel the same way :/
My modeling opportunities are limited because I'm 5'5. But we just have to deal.

There is another problem. It is difficult to just throw ice water on someone's dreams. I suspect that the administrators would not look kindly upon us telling people, that based on what we see on their profile and in their photos, they have no shot whatsoever.

We are too kind, most of the time.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

From now on 50 activity points will turn into 1 credit, so you may earn credits as easy as never before !!!
