:) Yeah...the buildings are standing alright...they are a bit weak but they could last another 50 years!!!! :D

Shopping!!! oooh! I love shopping...call me to give me some more details. This should be fun!! We won't have any hangovers! I would need you to be one of my official photographers at my fashion production coming up on the 23rd at the Tutu Park Mall. I am trying to get some hunky male models to do some showcasing also. CALL ME!!

I am trying to get her to sign up. She will...I just need to keep reminding her and telling her about all the fun you, mike and myself are having here....:lol:

Oh don't go there !!!! Even the mention of the word could get me thrown off the island quicker than an old fat guy on Survivor. Work permit rules (I'm expat) prevent me from doing anything other than my stated occupation. I'm not even allowed to do some things for free if a Bermudian could be paid for the same activity. TFCD is okay (i think). I have emailed immigration several times to clarify the rules but they never respond. Govt :angry: So until I go home or somewhere else it will remain a hobby.



Wow, Mike! :doh: I forgot how many of the independent island nations are. There is an extreme, an no longer justified, paranoia that foreigners will come in and take all the good business opportunities and jobs from the locals.

There is that fear here to some extent and truthfully, Virgin Islanders in the past experienced extreme discrimination in obtaining business loans, jobs they were qualified for and other opportunities due to non-natives coming in and squeezing them out.

A huge irony is that most other nationals in the Caribbean flock to St. Thomas as the place to be to make a better life for themselves and to send money home to their relatives...yet those same people, once they have settled in, are the biggest advocates of shutting out foreigners from work and investment opportunities.

Thank goodness we have the U.S. Constitution that prohibits what you are experiencing in Barbados. Outside investment and labor is one of the things that made the Virgin Islands the biggest economic powerhouse in the Caribbean and the thirteenth largest in the United States.

I feel for you in your situation and the blindness of Barbados in not realizing that your photography skills can contribute ot their economy in jobs, training of locals, and beneficial attention being brought to the island through international distribution of your images.

You are always welcome here, Mike, and I must say you have an extreme local fan club on your side. I cannot wait to see your photo results from the upcoming V.I. Fashion Week event.

I wonder if Camey saved any birthday cake to send you?
