What you think about this photo?

cool:thumbup:

Nice hair, but background and expression detracts from what ought to be a lively shot involving water and the appearence of having fun.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

The image is nice. You are nice. The concept showing off the long, lustrous flowing hair is nice.

But what Charles said!

The background distracts. What are those pinpoints of light back there? Also the composition of the image doesn't flow right with your action. But those are photographer critiques. You did fine.

All that hair would look fantastic in a water shoot, though! Ever consider it?

Uh...how many hours a day do you spend taking care of all that hair? Inquiring minds want to know! :D

nice picture!!

Hi Indre,

I noticed the length of your hair in some of your portfolio pictures and couldnt believe how long it was. How many years did it take to get to that length and like Karl says (Carib Goodies) how many hours a day to care for it? Are you still growing it ?

You certainly have the right stats/qualities for runway modelling...5 10"...how old are you btw? I think the photo is amazing specially getting all that gorgeous hair in mid air like that. Im intrigued how many takes that took; I would guess quite a few going by your facial expression ..which Charles comments on.

Like Karl Im very curious as to what the little 'robotic beady eyes' are in the background ??

Otherwise keep on updating your profile and all the best with finding a good mother model agency in the future. Always keep trying you never know who will come along and discover you ;)

That was my last phptography then I had a long hair. At now my hair end is beside my waist. :) Soon I should have a new photos. :)

Agree ( and the background is a bit to dark - so I must look good to distingush the hair from the background... A bit of light please... )
Alex

Nothing makes a photgrapher madder that showing up different that what he has been told/seen previously--- that you look like. That came from a photog I worked with on Saturday!

:cantlook:

That irks me, Cheri and/or mom. I can understand having a preconceived idea and being disappointed if I have to change my plan, but I also understand that peoplel change their style, their hair--I mean what if the last job the person had required a short haircut.

Things happen, you work around it. What you found was a primadonna. I've met the type. In the PJ world, a shooter works with what he finds, so some fashion people find us a refreshing change. Others think we must be no good because we don't come with an attitude.

A model does have an obligation to be as advertised in the final instance.

A model's presentation portfolio shows previous work and credentials. That means that everything we see in a portfolio is dated.

People change...sometimes through nature and sometimes of their own doing.

There is a responsibility of the client to ask about a model's current stats and request samples of a model's current look, and there is a responsibility of a model to inform clients of any noticeable changes to him/herself.

Face and hair can be taken care of by an MUA and so can skin disfigurements.

But this also brings to the fore an important part of one's portfolio that I keep yelling and screaming for people to get: Polaroids or snap shots. Where the presentation portfolio is designed and fluffed to grab our attention, the Polaroid is then intended to tell 100% truth about a model. Once you have our attention with the dazzle and flash, then we can look at the Polaroids and know what we need to do to turn the model into what we need. Polaroids should also be updated at least every three months for a child or young teen, every six months from 16 to 21 and annually thereafter. The faster you change the more often you should update your Polaroids. A portfolio is an understandable, required and expected white lie, a Polaroid is the truth.

Indre was quite upfront in saying that she cut her hair to her waist. She has fulfilled her obligation and really should not remove her longer haired images from her portfolio. It is an example of her experience and shows us what she can be should we so desire it. We put in extensions to make hair longer and request of models that they cut their hair for certain shoots.

If Indre shoots today with waist length hair and tomorrow shoots a gig rich enough to compensate her for cutting her hair to shoulder length, should she throw out yesterday's images? I don't think so.

In commercial shooting most of our hires do not fit exactly the casting requirements. You can bet that by shooting time, those hires will be made up to fit the bill.

You have done nothing wrong, Indre.

Dates and Polaroids.. notes taken. Thanks Karl.

I'm a little late to the conversation but I agree with Karl. If you seriously change your hair style you shouldn't have to delete all your portfolio images. Maybe you need to add one with the latest style and state that this is what it looks like at the moment. Which btw is what Indre says she is about to do. But it is definitely not false advertising.

It is not like Indre has had it cut really short anyway, you are not going to find many models with waist length hair. I'm pretty sure that what she has now is still considered "long".

That's not exactly what I meant guys. I meant like gaining a bunch of weight, being very short, showing up with neon hair or being tatooed all over. Besides, it was only a comment that was made to me by someone else that seemed to be having trouble with several model's truthfulness...I don't think cutting your hair is a really huge issue. I think falsely representing yourself is...

thanks Karl :) in my profile is the new photo :)

woow very long hair. is a very nice photo

I like the shot, but it is true the background does destract. I want to see what is in the room behind you. and you lose out being the subject. I also think it was takes a bit to late. The head leaning back makes it look awkward and a bit painful. Try to get it with the head straight up. It will be rather striking that way.

very pretty

i love both new photos they re amazing
Kimberley :)

New photo's are great:) Really like your hair:thumbup::lips:
