what other people see, I want to know if I have what it takes to model. I'm not
talking about being a supermodel, but some stuff. I'm living in Tokyo and am
wanting to see if I have a shot at it. I would love opinions, honest ones.

an interview. Take your portfolio with you.
Many agencies have submission requirements that they want you to follow or they
will file nine you. Simply ask them what their submission procedures are. They

Im sorry and I DONT want to offend you ( please: no hard feelings ), but:
asking: Do I have it what it takes... This is the most stupid cuestion on
Earth...
First: Look inside of you and ask yourself: DO I WANT TO DO THIS? Is this what
will make me happy? If the answer is: YES, than start searching inside of you
for: determination, willingnes to try and be prepared for hard work.
Make pictures of you: amater, semi pro and if possible: professional pictures (
you will have to find photographers ). Why all of them? Possible various -
several amater, semi pro and pro photographers? Everyone of them will see you in
a different way - something else on you and than it will be your job to look at
all that pictures and to choose the best from all of them - those pictures for
witch you will be able to say: YES - THIS IS ME!
Than take ALL of the pictures and start phoning and walking: Doors to doors -
agency to agency and be persistant!
What do you want me to tell you? Yes: YOU HAVE IT? Man  Im only one of the
photographers in the sea full of them ( photographers ) and who the hell can say
that I that my opinion is the best and the only one?
This is what can happen to you:
In a lot of agnecys they can say to you: Sorry... you are not the right
material... But isudennly you will find an agency where they will say to you:
What took you so long? We was looking for someone like you are... It may happen
a lot of things and you can get a lot of positive or negative answers! But: If
you will not try it - you will newer know.
My advice? make pictures and hit the road...Alex  |

i have to agreed with Alex, he sounds a bit harsh but it's true. you don't ask
me or anyone if you have it. you have to know you do.
when you walk into my office for a job, it's not me who wants to convince you i
want to hire you, i am waiting for YOU to convince me.
if you are not sure, then my final opinion will be the same as your initial
opinion: "he is not sure! so , why should i be sure of him?"
as for what model is wanted by agencies.
remember Twiggy?
well, before Twiggy changed the whole modeling industry in UK and the world...
models (in my opinion) were lovelier, rounder, fuller , heavier, less
anorexic... not like Twigs with legs skinnier than bowling pins.
then you know what happened.
we really don't know what is the face or body of tomorrow.
we can only base our assumption on the exisiting demand . but if suddenly
tomorrow,
everyone wants a face full of blemish, under arm hair, a woman with muscle,
rambo looking legs,etc...
hey, our jaws might drop to see all our expectations down the plynth,
but we go on, we adapt , and we shoot on ...(bad pun)... looking for Rambo size
models.
you know what i mean?
most times, the future is in our hands. unknowingly, we sometimes change the way
people think. the answer is, like all tennis players, I keep practising and aim
to be the world's best, then I let the rest to happen , come what may!"
