dont really have the cash to get professional potfolio So people
advise me to do tfp. I have contacted so many people to see if anyone will. Does
anybody actually do tfp
I aint been asking professionals as i know they get paid for what they do, so
what am i doing wrong. I feel so depressed
I have been advised to seek a photography school, which i did but they only work
with over 18s I feel so stuck.
I just wish somebody would give me a chance.
How did all you guys start out???Laughters the best medicine! Keep on smiling! |

A lot of photographers will do tfcd, time for a cd.
There are as many beginner photographers as beginner models, so keep
perservering and someone will give you a chance. |

I know that I was the one that gave you most of that advice and I'm glad you
have been trying. The advice is still very sound. TFCD is the only way to go if
you cannot afford professional images.
One question, do you have parental consent ? I know a lot of photogs including
myself will not photograph under 18's without an adult present and also written
consent. There are too many cases of youngsters accusing adults of doing
something inappropriate, many of them are probably true but you also hear about
ones where it is later revealed that it was all made up. By then the adults
career, marriage and life is in tatters. So... you definitely need to have your
parents on board if you want to get a head start and not wait until you are 18.
Like Cheri or Sheryl says try model mayhem, try here too and also onemodelplace.
Advertise in the local newspaper, it should not cost too much, maybe 5 quid.
Failing all that, put the word out at school. Talk to the geeks, chances are all
the cool kids are interested far more in xbox than photography. However, the
geeky really smart guys that are too weird to have a girlfriend, they are
probably the guys that are interested in the mechanics of how a camera works,
they'll understand depth of field and f-stop. They are also probably way to shy
to ever ask you to pose for them.
Okay admittedly that was totally stereotyped and I apologise to all geeky
adolescent photographers. But that's where I would start as my last resort. Also
make sure their motives are honest, and don't let them take any shots that you
might regret should they get circulated by email.
From my experience there are far more amateur photogs looking for models than
models looking for togs. It shouldn't be that difficult. You may have to do some
leg work but get the word out. If you cant find a photog find another model in
your area and ask her who she uses. You seem to have the looks, so I have to
assume the reason you are failing is that you are not trying hard enough. I
would shoot you at the drop of a hat. In fact I am back in the uk for 2 weeks in
June. I am a long way from Liverpool though, Leicester. If you can come down
(with parental consent and an adult) then I will do TFCD with you.
Keep trying and keep positive.
Regards Mike |

My parents are fine with me modelling so consent is not a problem, My dad also
drives so ifyou are serious about tfcd that would be great.
You guys are really helpful, and mikes stereotyped geek comment was funny Laughters the best medicine! Keep on smiling! |

Rachel, I'm serious, if you and your dad are prepared to travel over 2.5 hours
each wau to do a shoot I will definitely put some time aside to shoot you.
It's a long trip. I remember working in Huyton years ago I finished at 5pm and
then had to travel to Leicester to sign some documents for a house I was buying
down there, I think I went 99mph almost all the way there and back. Got to
Leicester signed the forms had some dinner and then drove all the way back. Was
back in the hotel around midnight. Point is if you want it badly enough you'll
do it.

I did a quick search here for UK togs. On the first page there were 2 in your
area.
One in Blackpool: Anthony Gregory: an amateur with some nice work
and
one in Preston/Warrington: Dan Archer - Semi pro again with some nice shots.
Message them and see explain to them what you want. Can't harm to try

Since you dont have any photos available (after a year of getting into!), I
really wonder, with all respect, what kind of "getting into modeling" that was
lol
There is a big difference between just an idea, a wish to be a model whats
taking our minds, and getting into literarly.
In todays world of digital hardware where cameras are practitly given away,
there is no excuse not to have a bunch of at least somewhat what we can call
images - especially for someone who likes to be infront of lenses (like a
model). Im sure, there is someone nearby, a friend or a girl in your
neighbourhood (or frined's friend), who enjoys photography alot and instead of
taking dull landsapes he/she would enjoy beautiful girl like you infront of
camera to express his/shes love for a photography.
You dont need to ask; just put yourself infront of camera. Say "take me now!"
Yes it is true; professional images take some better attention of scouts and
companies buuuut... scouts are not looking for images, but for models. And if
you are really a model, scouts will find you on any image, even taken during
shopping somewhere.
Shortly, if you want to be a model - act as one. Be one. Dont just dream about
it :P
And good luck |

from you..
nonetheless you will need to seek other photographers they cna be professional
or not.. tis better then web-cam pics.
I took shots with 3 professional photographers they did TFCD with me.. there are
NUMEROUS amount of photographers that also need help building there
portfolio.
just ask mommy or daddy to go with you. sign paper, do the photoshoot, net
work
