Stylist With Diploma Or Not?

do you trust a nail stylist or hairdresser more if he/she has a diploma? i mean there are some courses where you can learn these things. i usually decide by the result, but what about you? do you ask about stylist's experience before you have your hair done or before manicure?

I never ask the stylist weather or not he/she has diploma- first it would be embarrassing for both them and I. And if they weren't good enough then they probably wouldn't be working at the salon ;)

I've had 'Professional' results that made me think of Clint Eastwood's movie:
"The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly!"
My own personal experience is that Gay Male Hairdressers are more attentive to your needs & expectations, & generally work--without jealousy & sabotage-- to complete the BEST result...[ Sometimes overly generous, because they ENJOY what they do.]
Not for every1--I KNOW! :lips: 2 :muscle: ;) ;) ;)
However, females, in the right frame of attitude, can produce awesome results, as well.
Whether it be :lips::lips: OR :muscle::muscle:. . ."TRUE BLUE" IS The GENE that fits ALL;)

let's change a topic a little :) don't you think a stylist with more experience is more trustworthy? and would you entrust i.e. your hair for someone if you knew your are the first client for him/her?

I'll never. Why? I have many reasons - bad experience, thick hair and others. But it is just mine attitude :)
I am still here

Say, you eximious gifted GIRLS for gab ;)
I will tell the-tress-locked-tale in 'brioche' brevity, of those "informally permitted"/Non-Pro hairdressers, which I've entrusted my locks to, when I was a teenager, actually did well...AND went on to be licensed professionals.
Premonition OR Intuition, whichever the case;)
Even Pro's, though, can have a 'BAD HAIR' day. [Pardon the Pun for Fun ;) ]
So, I think it's a matter of knowing someone's capabilities vs. trusting a license, at times.
Although, years ago, I must admit, that I volunteered to have a modelling school friend of mine practice cutting hair...on me...OOpC
it's a good thing hair grows back...& I am/was creative.

Another spin-off on the subject matter is this:
How many Professional Hairdressers like to do their own work on themselves?...
And, how many of them swap services with a fellow Pro, when their need for coif' care comes into play?

PS Cory :) :muscle: I used to feel the same way you did about asking the "how long?"
...BUT, through much trial & error...My experiences led me to a different perspective upon this path. SMILE, my well-mannered BRO :)
Whatever works best for you!

Well mannered - YES - thanks for the boost of confidence Tekhanei;)

Nothing really beats experience!

One should not visit/hire a stylist with ATTITUDE..no offence but its true ..practice make a person PERFECT..and there is no end to learn new technique.. I agree with Tekhanei & Cory..:)

It is life I think! You find someone that understand you and who listens to you! The result of the first time tells you! it is all lifes experiences no different from finding that certain person who can service your car in the way that suits you! We all need to find these things, but there are no hard n fast rules!
