An Auditions & Talent Opportunities Forum! Total results: 16 Pages: 1 [ 1] |

ID: 204248 Posts: 105 | Date: 2008-05-07 07:13 I would like to suggest that a specific 'Auditions & Talent Opportunities' forum
area could be a great addition here at Jurgita!
Currently those seeking work have to find things fairly ramdomly and by chance
by scanning the forums areas or travelling out of forum to look at Events!
A specific forum topic for Genuinely Placed opportunities would give Aspiring
Talents a place to head for Daily to watch for up-dates! I say Genuine Placed,
as a pre-requisite of those posting could be that they show specific poster
information at the point of adding opportunities and that way it would dissuade
fakes or time wasters adding scams etc!
I would like to know others thoughts on this? As I think a specific place here
for jobs is long over-due and the Events section could then return to such as
it's name and other forum areas will not be cluttered with random job placings! |

We have these:
General modeling discussions
Discussions among models about modeling. Have any questions – post them here
and you will get answers from other models
Modeling agencies
Do you belong to any modeling agency? Tell everyone about it, share your
experience with it and get sugestions about job offers
Models career
Wonder how to become a model? Ask about it here. Disccus about amateur and
professional models career
And Events, but not a Specific Auditions and Jobs Area as such Kim! I'm sure
such a thing would help members and newcomers. |

Kim
Yes that is for Jurgita contests, I was thinking more of an area just for work
opportunities, auditions, tfp maybe and that sort of thing Kim |

Ok Ok Kim since this topic has had so far 42 views but only you and I chatting,
I shall except that maybe the Events Section is an acceptable (Yet wrongly Named
for that purpose) place for those to find possible work!
However, you are a new young starting out talent yourself, have you found work
via Jurgita yourself Kim?
I have recently chatted with someone who is finding work via other means, but
none via here! Employers also look for clear places on sites to advertise Jobs
and will place many more opportunities at sites that show clearly defined areas
for 'Castings, Auditions, Modeling opportunities!
Something labelled 'Events' will never rate highly in google or similar
searches, so the possibility of New Members and New Potential Employers viewing
it as a place for jobs over and above other places is slim in my view!
I shall let you win the Strong Arm Contest Kim on fact, but from the common
Sense and Moving On to Improve angle I will still disagree |

I have recently posted looking for models for trade shows in Madrid and
Barcelona and have had very little response. I believe the issue with this is
that the forums do not contain a specific area for job postings.
You may in turn suggest I post to the events especially since I said that I
would hold a short casting session. However, I do not want to hold an open
casting session and hence feel the events section would be inappropriate. I have
2 jobs going at each location and want to limit the casting to 5 girls. It would
be inappropriate for me to have a casting session for 2 jobs and have 30 girls
turn up besides the amount of time I would have to waste when I would have much
more important tasks to deal with.
I also think the point system here should be reviewed since I feel that alot of
the forum posts are made simply to increase the persons activity. I won't
complain about this too much, but I don't see the need for someone to compliment
the dresses in our collections in a thread offering work, although the posts
probably helped the thread to be more visible. |

Thank you for adding that, it is a good example I feel of the need for a
specific Jobs area at Jurgita!
I also agree on your other point regarding the points system, it is encouraging
some to simply add a few words at each posting to gain points and this in turn
ruins the thread of some postings! Those people are then rewarded for having
made so many postings at the end of the month, but it does not make good
forum!
This can be annoying to those like myself who try to post constructively and
advise of observations but then get their topics locked:

Kim you were the one replying with me in the locked forum lol And you were
agreeing with me there STRANGE now you talk differently!
Anyway it is not about locked forum, obviously there was a reason, there is a
reason for everything in life!
The point of the topic is about an idea for Specific areas for Jobs and
this as the previous person mentions is now at risk of losing that thread
here!
Great to know you are doing ok Kim, but why so defensive of ideas for change at
Jurgita? Ideas and input are progressive and should be encouraged of members
surely? |

Very very true!
Change and learning is always good, those who think they need not learn limit
themselves I think! To become stuck in old ways can be restrictive and restrict
those around you. It is good to take the best of what is past and current yet
strive for improvement and in this case make things more user friendly for your
own purposes as Members! Remember, a site is only as good as it's members and
consequently an open minded attitude to improving the needs of members whether
they be Aspiring Talents or Potential Employers is very important to the future
and image of a good site! |

Lore, I could not agree with you more about the huge time and effort
requirements of any casting call. In a brick and mortar place like mine, I can
just close the door and hang a sign saying "audition filled" if the crowd gets
to large. Then again, I can look into the lobby and see right away if their are
likely faces waiting.
Difficult to do over the internet.
But there is a way to cut off a casting call here when you have enough
applicants. One: If you post under events you can time date the length of time
you want the event to run. This, however, does not block off posters,
unfortunately. If you post a casting call under a forum topic, when you have
your fill of respondents, you can make a posting saying that auditions are
closed and then email a moderator asking them to lock the topic for you. If you
are the Original Poster, I don;t see a moderator not granting your request
unless there are exigent circumstances. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |

ID: 182744 Posts: 1435 | Date: 2008-05-16 00:22 I feel their is a need for a Casting Call forum under 'Modeling' and under
'Talent'. Right now, casting calls under events is not the easiest or most
common place for people to look.
I do a casting, I do not want people to have to lok for me, I want to shout it
in their faces. Generally, if I have to do a casting call it means that I do not
have the proper talent available in my pool of resources and desperately need to
search for and obtain the desired talent quickly before my client goes to
someone else.
If 'Casting Calls' were a subject title under Models and Talents, I bet every
talent on Jurgita would make those forums their first stop whenever logging on.
The current system either buries a casting in obscurity under "Events" or within
one of a couple dozen forum topic areas.
Let casting calls have their own very visible home! Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |

Karl I think your last two replies here are well observed and more
importantly born out of prior experiences here!
I myself added two genuine opportunities that I observed, which quickly
became covered and barely noticed in forum, however, as I am not the employer
myself I would not have wished to add them as Events!
So I can see the frustration of true potential employers with the
current system so clearly outlined by yourself and Lore here!
Thank you for your fine replies here at this topic! |
