labeled "restricted". We have to protect the minors here from nature or the
natural. What a world we live in!
One shot in that outfit is great. Two or more is overkill. Variety is what you
want in this limited space.
A photographer often only cares about his framing, composition, use of color,
etc. A designer wants the clothing to come out looking great. When you are
showing your saleable skills you want the shot to be concentrated on you. You
have to find a balance in your portfolio and--worse come to worse--crop out most
of the extraneous background in what you upload here.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try! |

back and forth on it. ) Only thing that bother me is the hair seems to blend
into the dark background too much. A hint of backlighting? Other than that I
think they all work. |

That shot was not available to regular Bronze Members, but it is now
visible to minors lol albeit with the adjustment you made! |

Ha Ha quite funny really! If a pic was not visible to normal members then why
state that it should not be seen by minors and put it on full view of minors at
forum? DOH!!!
Regardless of adjustments!
If my profile is not visible tomorrrow ie: Deleted Profile or Unverified, then
you can see that my observations once again here did not sit well with Jurgita
I note
Charles is himself a Jurgita Moderator and should have known better adding that
pic here yes? |

how to proceed. While I called attention to the rules, I also wanted to help the
model improve on her portfolio. Since I really can't agree with the puritanical
attitude in current vogue in the US, perhaps my tongue was partly lodged in my
cheek.
I'm not very thin-skinned, Alex. I don't mind people who speak their mind, as
long as there is a rational thought behind what they say. I note that you've
been corrected by others and you took it well. I make plenty of gaffes of my
own, and eaten humble pie. I expect I will again in the future--perhaps
often. If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

I think I was trying to say that the pic was not viewable by my profile
until you brought it into the forum Charles, I was trying to to advise of that
to be positive in observations, but typically I say to much!! Sorry for hurt
feelings!
Yes when people strive to for correction they inevitably will get
critisism themselves and should remain open to the odd error, therefore Humble
Pie remains my Staple Diet Too! |

If they
had an emoticon for scratching my head, I would have used it. Hurt feelings? It
was the final paragraph in your post that said something about being unverified
or deleted to which I was responding.
In Psych 1, they called this "transference". I say take two shots of Bushmills
Black and relax. If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

As best as I can tell, the shots appear to be available light--or intended to
look that way. I once was cruising the beach and spotted a guy with a fancy
camera trying to shoot a commercial shot with two models and one assistant. He
had brought along a very nice reflector--not a bad idea on the beach, with so
much bright sun and harsh shadows--but the female assistant couldn't hold on to
the reflector in the ocean breeze. I pulled over and offered a hand. I quite
enjoyed watching someone else work and kept my mouth shut, but even with a
reflector there were too many negatives in the shot for anything good to come of
it. The sun was almost directly overhead, the sand was blowing and the model's
hair wouldnt behave. The girls kept squinting. And the object of the shoot, some
sort of highly polished beach buggy, was throwing reflections of its own on
everything.
So, who knows what was involved with this girl's shoot. I thought the images
were designed to be faux art and less about the person than the vision. One shot
like that in a portfolio is good, but the rest of the space should have a
variety of views and include a good head shot or two.If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

A wise choice in relaxation, possibly a little harsh for midday in the
U.K The final
paragraph was not personal Charles, I had just read a 'Tickets' reply which made
me add it! Truse - You note my initial observation and I note your 'Chill Out'
recipe yes? Job Done |

I take back the Bushmills suggestion. You're too young to be drinking the hard
stuff and I'd be contributing to the delinquincy of a minor.
No wonder you get in trouble--you are being sassy to your elders--you know, at
our age, we are too slow, too weak in the head and should be put out to
pasture---wait, I am in the pasture!
I just had a chance to review your profile, so I know why you are getting such a
hard time--Oh, you're in trouble now, young man--you should have covered your
eyes! If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!

| Date: 2008-05-15 09:32 I agree you need variety. I have to say I like the shots though, they are great,
except maybe for the 5th one, the last one I can see. Don't think it does
anything for you, I was going to say the same thing for the one on the step,
until I realized it was oriented correctly, that is quite a pose. |

Yup....he is too wise for his own good...cant even be bothered to check whether
he is correct or not...and whamm...everything come out...with no regards. Best,
he must be right all the time and demand explanation from everyone? We seriously
dont have time to entertain him. It better to use our time to benefit others in
the forum, give them more casting calls/jobs.
Go have fun elsewhere, you will get bored sooner or later.
PS: If you felt insulted, please reflect upon your posting and yes I do
apologise if I have insulted you with my replies here and in Capture the Tiger
Photo Competition. However, my intention is for your own good. Hopefully, you
can take it positively.
Cheers and have a nice day. |

I have posted constructive forums! I compliment and I have added actual Casting
Opportunities that I noted would be useful for others! I am not playing!
I do not profess to be right everytime, but forum is forum and open to all
discussion surely Orsiris?
Thank you to Kim for noting that only 2 pics were visible to her at the
portfolio in question, that was my initial point!
Thank you Charles for that good reply. |
