btw I would use this opportunity to aware models (although I doubt that that
will happen lol) how much portfolio really is important for model's launch in
publishing industry - since we/publishers sell photos not actually models "live"
services on runway like e.g. fashion. what i wanna say is that in this case we
dont care much how model looks in front of our eyes but what is "saying" to us
via images exclusivly.
while we want to look great on photos, what is actually important is what those
photos "says" to audience. model is just an element like every other detail
arround on the image like simple lamp for example which "triggers" something in
eyes of public. joy, passion, smile, pain, sarrow.. whatever.
publishing is very important to get noticed around and its priceless, essential
for everyone who wants to achieve something. firstly you will probably work with
professionals and gain very important experience, and comments of audience. and
impressive comments about you are actually the key of your success - not just
simple online expectations with 2-3 images far away from reality.
if public loves you, every agency and scout will feel the same about you so dont
be lazy to try to impress your watchers with something.
i would recommend attractive models not to searh for agencies like crazy but to
konck on some respective publisher's doors with a simple request that you just
want to be taken and published. if editor decide to do it - maybe there is a
chance for exposure.
ps: good editor will never shoot bad model for any money in return, but it will
publish absolute amateur for free if he encounters possible exposure. worth of
trying.
