with a top agency, having experience, putting up pictures on the site, and your
smile.
If you put up a picture keep to certain guidelines though. Such as using good
pictures, steer clear of pix elation, stay away from picture taken bey phones,
and remember good lighting and color coordination such as Hue/Saturation/Gama.
In order to get signed up with a top modeling agency you do need the experience.
I would do this by either having an armature photographer take pictures or you
while giving you orders to pose in certain posing stances and stiles. have
different stiles of outfits and or clothes and props. Or you can get the
experience at a (TFP) or Time For Photo.
While smiling is a big part of the modeling industry so are different
expressions. Any one can smile However, smiling while showing emotions of Fun,
Pleasure, Excitement, and other sensations and making them believable on cue are
what modeling photographers and agency are looking for. You can improve this by
making faces in a mirror for a set time of each day. I know that may sound silly
but trust me it works.Dante' A V |

Dante your time will come You are a good salesman! If victor wants to be a top professional
model then a photo is needed at least
A top model will become a top model without professional photoshots initially!
When they have their jobs then the profesional photogrphers are needed, let's
keep a sense of priority here! Some good advice issues in between though, that
is how you can sell yourself more with the help and not mentioning the
Professional side, that way if anyone is interested they will take you as seen
at forum for advice at face value, you get my point!
Everyone is hungry for work and success but the right information is the only
way to move forward and hard sell only results in short term interest! |

Like any profession, unless you have a horseshoe up your..., you get out of it
what you put in. You have a commodity to sell (yourself). It could be your
looks, the way you act or react or a talent. You may be the very best in the
market but the very first thing that gets your foot in the door is your photo.
Because this is the door opener(SIC) you want to make the best impression
possible. Literally thousands of good looking people regularly go to agencies
and ask to be represented. The question you should ask yourself is what can I do
to make my photo stand out. A PROFESSIONAL photo is a big start. The second
thing is what are my photos telling the viewer. The agent will only be thinking
'Can I sell this person to any of my clients'? 'Can my agency make money selling
this person'? A photographer knows (should know) how to bring the best of you
out. Your photos should say 'HEY! LOOK AT ME! DON"T BOTHER LOOKING ANY
FURTHER!'
A good Comp Card is Essential. It's your calling card.
Once you get in the casting agents door is not the time to think about how to
react when your told to smile, frown, pout, look sad, look angry, etc. These are
things you know are going to be asked of you. PRACTICE them! (Often). Get a full
length mirror and practice walking! You WILL be asked to walk the length of a
hallway and back. You'd be surprised how people stumble when someone is
watching! Get a tape recorder and read aloud from a book or newspaper. Listen to
yourself. Hear how other people hear you. You may be surprised. If you think you
sound perfect, ask someone else to critique you. Asked others to critique you
doing all of the above. Welcome any suggestions and don't take any of them
personal.
Modeling is not easy. EVERY aspect of you is under a microscope and you are
asking to be compensated for being perfect! YOU are claiming to be the EXPERT.
People want to do things the way you did it because you did it correctly. Don't
cheat them! Learn how to do it right then show how its done. In this business,
good enough, isn't good enough.
Put the time and effort into your profession and it will show!
I would say good luck but that's only 10%, learn your trade (90%).
Best wishes!

Personally, I think you have to have the PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and a UNIQUE
LOOK. without these two, a male or female model shouldnt even bother with
modeling or trying to walk though that door. Also sometimes professional photos
arent the BEST way to go. Yes they help but to be honest, I know other models
that are just starting out with nothing more than simple polaroids that the
agent took.
If you have the two basic yet necessary requirements then your photos will speak
for themselves to bookers, agents and hopefully clients as well. |

Like Blake says the don't need to be professional, even if one of your friends
took a few of photo's you they would let potential agents on jurgita see how you
look |

passion for what you're doing. It is not different when you're a Model aspiring
to get to the top, you have to love what you do and have a very strong passion
for it, because it is really a very stiff and competitive ladder you're climbing
and so many others are already on it, so many more are still getting on it.
Without this strong passion and dertermination to get to the top you might end
up being pushed off the ladder, that is giving up. You might possess the best
qualities and best photos any would be professional Model should have but you
are still not being discoverred, you get passed over for jobs while Models that
are less endowed (and it is obvious you're better than them) gets jobs all the
time, if you don't love your chosen profession, have no passion for it and
definitely not determined to succeed in it, you could easily get frustrated and
discouraged, this is where so many cave in and decide to let go. So I believe a
Model need to love Modelling and have a strong passion for it coupled with the
strong will to get to the top. |
