Date: 2008-07-18 08:50 Since I'm a retired photographer and have no business to lose or gain, I can
speak the truth. Despite what Gary said, no one here will get a job based on
typical self-portraits taken with a small pocket camera or through a bathroom
mirror.
If your measurements are accurate, and the one full body shot does not suggest
that you are that buxom or heavy-hipped, then you are already limited in what
you can do because the market will not look twice at you with those stats unless
you have some stunning photos to catch attention.
Your face is strong, but the closeup shots with a small wideangled lens distorts
and makes it look too strong. We have no idea what are the true dimensions of
your face with these images.
Some people here will be flattering to you, no matter how imperfect your
pictures may be, for reasons of their own--to be your "friend", to score points
for the most posts-- who knows?
I have rarely seen any photographer here tell someone they need to get pro shots
done without good cause, especially since we are spread all over the world and
are not likely to be anywhere near the potential model to benefit from our
"commercial" urgings. If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try! |
