a friend of mine told me i was wasting my time on it, and just having a bunch of 40 year old scam photographers and models the chance to potentially harm me.
should i honestly be worried?
I mean personally i think it's safe.
but i am young, so i guess "i don't know what i'm talking about"

How much time and effort are you spending in Jurgita? What have you gotten in return?

There are always dangers in the modern internet age for any young folks and this is not specific to just one site. One must learn to recognise the dangers and protect themselves in this world of temptation. I believe its part and parcel of growing up. We will make mistakes but we will become stronger as we age. When in doubt, always consult your family members or seek a second opinion from your friends, especially older ones.

Well , you can always do a Cost Benefit Analysis or a Cost Efficiency Analysis to see if Jurgita is worth the time. :thumbup:

yes it is since i ve been here i learned loads about modelling and how to contact photographs and lots more. I think Jurgita is a very good thing in modelling and when you said a bunch of 40 year old scam photogs. never seen it here and i ve been using jurgita for 6 months there could be scam offers but i never found a scam photographer

Exactly what Orsiris Pte Ltd said, how much time and effort are you spending on Jurgita? Like I said before, you have to expand your efforts and not put all of your eggs in one basket. There are a few really great modeling websites out there and your on one of them. If you arent finding luck on this website then search for the others. All I can say is you get back what you put into it:dunno: If you arent willing to put the time and effort, then the result will reflect the effort put in.

As an entertainer I am finding the site very valuable..............performing in a small country is like being in a goldfish bowl but the living room here is tiny..............

lots of people know lots of people here..........confidence to say and not be criticised heavily is very empowering.................

I think they should allow to more messages to be sent per day. we are looking for a girl in budapest to help us during an event next month. after emailing a few girls when i registered i could only send one reply per day and wait another day to email another girl....

Hiya Nicki..........Val from NZ here.............I reckon that the person who knows best for Nicki ...............is Nicki.........age is nothing when it comes to knowing best.....and yes you do know what you are talking about..............you.....

As far as modelling goes if thats what you want to to then weigh up all this great advice and go hard.....the end result is what you put into it....

if you're looking for a model i must say i doubt someone will get interested as your profile says you're a member and not a scout or representative of some company. besides if you really needed to contact someone wouldn't you invest in higher membership? i have no intentions in offending you, but it doesn't seem like you are serious about your intentions. i'm sorry if i'm wrong.

I just started working with this site and am not sure about it yet. I have been out of modeling for about 10 years and now am trying to start up again. I hope that it works for netwrking.

Takes a little time... keep contacting those agencies Nicki:thumbup:
Be persistant with the agents!:thumbup:
and photographers... just don't let them con you out of hundreds or thousands of dollars, the quality of your pictures is excellent, maybe if you could put some more up it could make a difference in jurgita:dunno:
It's what you want to do so don't give up Nicki:thumbup: we all like you:)

Hmm.. Yes, opportunity is everywhere. Especially on very well known sites like MM or Model buzz etc. There is much more opportunity when networking on a site that has many contacts in the US. This site is geared toward international use. Unfortunately, I doubt Nikki will meet or work with anyone here. She is based in sunny Calif like I am. Her local market is her best bet for success.

Jurgita works better if you can upgrade & send more messages too, but need a credit card to upgrade & Nicki is only 16!
Is that old enough in the states or is it the same as over here in the UK, 18 to have a card?:dunno:

Yes dear, I can understand where you are coming from. Every site has its strength and weaknesses. No site is perfect at the moment. You might need a combination of 2-3 if you have the time to serve your purposes. Do remember that your needs will also change with time throughout your career.

For MM, you dont really get the chance to interact with the Agencies and Agents. For us, Jurgita represent a very good opportunity to link with models, agencies and agents from all over the world. For example, when we need to do a shoot in Australia, we will contact the agencies to send over their polariods, video and comcards. Its also a one stop solution for models getting information about the foreign agencies before they decide which one to join.

In MM, you get a much more personal approach as the number of US based models, talents, photographers, fashion stylists, MUA and hairstylists is enormous. They have the same culture as you and hence would be the perfect platform to build on friendship and MM do act as a valuable source for work and jobs if you are based in US.

Embrace the websites that really helps you currently and be prepared to adapt for any changes in the future.

OMP & MM has most of their members in the US & Canada... but the odd one or two in the UK or africa... and the majority of photographers & agents on there are scammers!
Yeah by all means plenty of photog's & agents on jurgita will reply to this post in their defence, there are a couple on there you can trust but jurgita is safer all round as they deal with fraud & scam quicker than OMP or MM:thumbup:
Look at it this way... if industry pro's on jurgita that have photog or Agent accounts are in 100% denial of the fact that scammers get a better chance to run wild on OMP then how do you know the ones on here can be trusted?:dunno:
If anything seems suspicious or even just not right... it's not!:thumbup:

Hmm I do see your point. However, Nikki needs to build her port -- and she is too short for agency work other than commercial.

Here in California there are literally millions of beautiful girls that meet the height requirement. ( 5'9" and up) Nikki won't be looked at by those kinds of agencies-- just like myself-- she is a shortie! MM will allow her to build a great port.. And get jobs like magazine ads, fashions shows etc. I have gotten tons of PAID work there. I think she should hook up with as may sites as possible to get her beautiful face out there!

In the UK we have lots of models under 5'5" never mind 5'9" turning up everywhere, there's even at least two petite specialist agencies in the UK:thumbup:
I know a 5'0" tall model personally that gets plenty paid work, and height has no restrictions for her, though over here it's illegal to descriminate because of height under UK law:thumbup:

But do try the other sites by all means, don't give up on jurgita though as something may just come your way on here:thumbup:
