$1749 street price in Canada. Not bad for a camera that has the same sensor and processor as the D3 which sells for $5000.

Wow... if its really $1749, its a steal man! That is almost the price for a new D300 here in Singapore. The D700 wil cost around $3000 bucks in Canadian dollars if you convert the Singapore pricing. :cool:

Yeah, I've heard a lot about oddities in respect to pricing on the global level. Not to rub it in, but Nikon Canada also offers a second year on the warranty.
Either way. I don't have one as I have the D3 wich is the big brother, but I had it for two weeks and the performance truly is the same. Same sensorr, and pros=cessor. Main difference is that it is essentially a D300 body.
Now to change the subject. I got a sneal prview at the new D90 which is suposed to be a replacement for the D80. WELL.. in my opinion it is an improvement over the D300 in some ways. At high ISO it exhibits LESS noise. Not bad at a fraction of the price....
