hey, i'm 17 and really interested in becoming a successful model. i don't have that much experience though. i'm in sydney, so could anyone let me know which agencies are good/ not that good to apply for if i'm not that experienced.. (or does that not matter ?)
people tell me my height is an issue.. but i'm only interested in doing shoots for print, not so much runway..
a few people such as audrey kitching, hanna beth and the like have promoted themselves on myspace and buzznet (search them if you have not heard of them) - i'm thinking of that way for me cause i have similar style and look as them.

hanna beths myspace:
myspace.com/loveandconfusion

mine:
myspace.com/lovepeaceandgratitude

i basically just want to know which way would be most respectable if an agency is looking for a model..
also, any experience that you guys have had with past agencies would be of great help also.
thank you

Look up google search for agencies in Sydney:thumbup:
Just key in "model agencies, sydney" & click the search option for Australia only:thumbup:

You've sure got the looks;)

haha thank you.
ill give it a shot.

Or...you could dig up your own work. Just because you sign doesn't mean you'll get any work. Pound the pavement--contact magazine companies, advertising agencies etc.. You'll probably get great results. That's what I do.
Your height is an issue only if your trying to do fashion. Yip, I am a shorty too. You would make a great commercial model.

:)

Hi every one!!!
Anybody can be a Model ....If you want to.
Make sure you research about the agencies you are going to be in.
Have positive thinking and press on.

Learn to be yourself and remember each person is unique.

Be yourself, be professional and get your face out there! The more noticed you are teh more success you'll have.

U sure have the looks, need better pics though.
:) :D Avikal :D :)

You are in Sydney. You should be able to find some good agencies. Like Frenchi said, you need to pound the pavement and do some research. You can do the myspace thing but it is going to be hard to stand out since everyone is doing it also. You should also put together a physical portfolio/book and put professional photos in it - not what you have here.

Find a reputalbe talented local photographer and have them make you a portfolio, do some TFP/CD shoots, and build a portfolio, it makes you more prepared to go to the agency.

Hi,

You have given myspace links, but it seems only friends can see the pics......
:) :D Avikal :D :)

Let me know if you need any help for photography. We can hook you up with our associates in Sydney.

If they are free and available for test..can always ask them to help ya ;)

do some TF shoots to make your portfolio more professional

swagmagazine.ning.com you will find great info there on the subject
