the first person i've dated was someone in my collge that i met online. i never thoiught i would start out tht way but it just happens that way. what do you guys think of it?
The only time I'll stop is when I fall in love or fall dead.

i think its a decent way to find people with a similar interest, or school, etc.
Its also easier to break the ice online. But with that said, i've never dated anyone i met online. I have made friends that way (like when we are members of a group).

I'm actually looking to meet someone from NYC right now. And i want her to be in the acting, art, or fashion industries. I find it best when my friends (and girl) are in a similar line of work. Its too difficult otherwise.

I think the Internet is a great way to meet people, but one can't have a serious relationship (at least in my opinion) by merely sending messages to one another.

The internet has proven interesting as a tool for several people I know to meet. It would seem to be better than a bar, as long as there is more substantial contact as well.

Internet gives you wider search without actually having to travel there - Myself personally never have used it for dating purposes, but think its pretty cool;)

i think internet is a great way to meet people, but you have always remember that the person you are talking to is not necessarily the same you imagine her/him to be.

Yan, I think that was one of the safest places to meet someone online because the internet has become a sort of "blind date" type of a game. I think that internet dating can speed up the traditional timing of emotional intimacy between two people which could be both good and bad. Bad because it can be built on assumptions of the person in order to compensate for the lack of their physical presence, but good because talking to the person without actually being in their presence can mean that your feelings for them will grow even more once you finally do meet them. I would say to anyone to be careful, patient, and know the true reasons for why you want to internet date.

Well.. speaking from personal experience cant say i ever used the internet for "dating" purposes.. just to meet new people. However, sometimes you just kinda start to like someone.. and then end up meeting them in person (however, make sure its a public place..just in case the person isnt who they say they are..) Luckily my guy was exactly who he said he was:D and now we're crazy about each other.. except for one not so great part.. 5 hours distance between us :(

I've never met anyone in person online, or dated. I most likely wouldn't do it ever. I know a few people that have and they thought it was fun. But I also have heard about ALOT of people getting harmed and even kilt from meeting people online. I guess it all depends on who you talk to online. You just might end up with a pyshopath, or the love of your life. I won't take my chances on that haha.

online dating is akward.
i met someone because of online, it was really weird.
i dont like it, i would rather meet someone at the mall or somtihng.

Never did it myself, and probably never will. However, I know people who did, and now there are several happy couples thanks to online dating. It seems that old timer Einstein was right after all. Everything is relative, even online dating :D
I knew for sure our chance was blown when rifles made us feel at home.

I think it is good but strange because you can build up a rapport before meeting someone find out all the small chat etc and build up a confidence with each other but when you meet in person that confidence is not carried on!
