I just read that Nikon stop the production of the F6.
So there is no film SLR available from Nikon anymore.

Do you guys still use film cameras?

I have them, I don't use them.
If I haven't been there, I'm still planning on going!
If I haven't done it, I've still got time to try!

Not to be confrontational but the simple fact that production on the F6 has stopped does not in and of itself suggest Nikon is out of the film business. It could merely reflect that sales are such that current inventory will suffice until such time as the F7 comes out. :dunno: Did you read a statement from Nijkon that went beyond stating production stop on the F6? Did they in fact state the F6 would be there last film body????
Why do we struggle to paddle upstream while the river is taking us where we need to go?

Like Charles I have several film bodies as well as about 150 rolls of various types of film in my freezer, including some rare and retired specimens

Film is still with us fore sure. If I had the coin, I would buy a Leica R9 tomorow, and get a used digi back for it so it could swing both ways film and 10mp digital camera. I still shoot an old topcoflex TLR 120 film and still pull out my old OM-1 and shoot. But thinks are getting more expensive for processing.

When I was going digital one of the articles I read contained a confession from the writer. He said that we all think we'll use our film cameras again but we don't. Cannot speak for anyone else but it was true for me.

no film here gents. All digi for at least 4 years...maybe more

As far as I know Nikon announces this Jan 2006, we in Turkey can still find cameras on shelves but they dont produce new ones. Canon also announced they wont work for developing the film cameras in 2006. I also didnt use film cameras more then three years. But still have Infrared films and Kodachromes in freezer :)

Nikon will not announce a F7, they see the future in digital SLR.

I for myself still keep my 6x7 Mamiya cameras.
But it is getting more difficult to get films in Bangkok.

Yes we still use film camera in our country here but soon im going to digital only because i can save money on not buy film and i can just download them to my computer and so when i take that shot i can see if it was good or not.
People can always doubt what you say, but they can't doubt what you do.

I didn't use film for more than 4 years now, but I want to do it again. I still have a film SLR. For arty projects, I think it's quite usable.

You know there is somthing about the feel of a 50 year old TLR camera (the one my granddad bought new in 57). All manual, and getting the framing in a waist level finder. It just feel right. You know you had to work for the photograph.

Hey Terence, you're killing me. You're making me miss my RB67 so bad I cn taste it. I've still got my RZ (120 is bunches easier to find than 220), but the rotating back on the RB made it more fun.

Well come on Mark, Dig that bad boy out and shoot it. Its like having an Astin Martin and just leaving it in the garage. Just a waste.

I use the RZ67 all the time. It's the RB that I sold. That's how I got the cah to g digital. I'll probably miss that camera forever. It's like selling a Rolls Royce to buy a Jaguar. Both are great, but nothing beats the feel of the Rolls.

I still shoot this old topcoflex TLR (pic shot with my old D1 50mm f3)

Purty critte. It reminds me of my old Seagull. I've still got that one, to. Don't use it anymore. I've gotten spoiled with the Mamiya.

the last time I shot film was in 2003
still have my father's 1960s era Nikkormat FS though
it still shoots rather well and in better condition then
the digital cameras I've gone through.

but would love to get my feet wet with medium format

wow doesn't this just kinda make you feel old, when you look back in time before they had the digital cameras and all we could use where the film cameras.... Polaroids!:lips::D

shake it like a Polaroid picture.. yaya shake it!
