It has been brought to my attention, and I have been able to confirm this myself, that messages sent yesterday may have gone to the same place your missing socks went.
There was an issue with the site yesterday and it appears that it has affected outgoing messages for some of us. The affected messages do not show up in your sent messages folder. So, please check for lost messages.
Why do we struggle to paddle upstream while the river is taking us where we need to go?

I had 7 messages in my inbox yesterday & couldn't access them, the control panel & mail pages wouldn't display at all but I still have an e-mail address listed in my google mail account so I e-mailed direct & Giedrius said it's something to do with changing servers it sometimes happens, it's o.k. today so must be fixed now unless anyone else is still having problems:dunno:

I was out of town most of monday so I never noticed till evening:thumbup:

I also had the problem of accessing the mail and control panels, but this pertains to actual messages vanishing. messages i received and others I sent are not in my mail box anymore. no big deal, but if anyone sent any important messages, it might be prudent to resend, and the recipient ay not have received the first one.

Tickets have been submitted. Let's hope this issue is corrected soon.

I have also noticed that the order of my bookmarks has changed. They used to be in the order I have applied them, but this is no longer the case.:dunno:

The internet gremlins are at it again....

If it was a change of server maybe the mail wasn't transferred:dunno:

As I was out most of monday I have no idea whether the whole site was down at any point or not?:dunno:

As I posted to the original "control panel" issue, the whole site was not down yesterday.
This appears to be an internal issue with Jurgita since the rest of the site appeared to be working fine. If it were a server issue the entire site would have been wiped out, at least temporarily.

well.. not necesarily. I'm no IT guy but...
Imagine this scenario. Say at an arbitrairy time total contents of current server are copied in preparation for a potential switch to new server. Meanwile site is still running on the whole server. Then copied contents are then dumped onto new server. While this happns IT guy either goes to lunch or falls asleep. Time passes, site is still runing on "old" server. IT guy comes back/wakes up, checks that new server properly set up, and "PPOF" makes the switch to new server. Fine. Except that all activity which occured after the old contents were copied for the transfer to the actual switch is now lost in the twilight zone, along with my missing socks...
IT guys such as Kar Mui may have more technical explanations, but that is the extent of my IT gremlines theory....:dunno:

You need to copy files from one drive to another to stop the syster from compressing them automatically:thumbup:
Windows XP gives you up to 500 days till it compresses a file that hasn't been accessed, as long as you have ajusted the settings, you can access "compress old files" through the disk clean up utility:thumbup:

Sometimes when I copy files from the SD card from the camera or the digital radio the files are o.k. on the original device but on the desktop the audio files don't play right or the photo's from the camera's come up with grey bands across them, though when I put the card in the Mac the pictures came up o.k.:endecided:

I transfer all the contents of one external drive to another periodically to keep the files in the original quality:thumbup:

Wow! I'm glad you said that. What exactly did you say?? :embarassed: For not being IT men, "IT" sure seems you know of what you speak. Good stuff to be educated on. If I read it really slow like, and over a few dozen times, I do believe you've taught me something very fascinating. Complex but fascinating. Thanks! :D

We have moved to a new server. Some of the information might be mixed.
Some of my old messages appeared as new and I have got an email saying that I have new messages. Hope everything will be fixed in a day or two.
Love to Love

ok, it'll be fix soon
