Hey guys. I'm just wondering how long it takes because when I had mine done he took a few months. Is that normal? :dunno: I want to get some more done since I have completly different hair now. It's short, brown and in a faux hawk style. Plus I want some shots of me sitting/standing up  I don't want to wait 3 months again. If that isn't normal should I look for a different photographer? How long do you take giving your clients there photos after the shoot? Thanks

It all depends on the photographer's work load. Three months seem a bit long to me. I usually deliver the images within a couple of weeks depending on the number of images and the amount of retouching needed. The thumbnails/contact sheets go out sooner than that.

Personally I think 3 months is way to long. If I do a photo shoot with someone I let them know how things are going every other day. I also don't over book to the point where I can't give one on one service Personal service , to the Model. I have NEVER taken over a week to get proof to the model and maybe another week to get the 8X10s for her folio:proud:

It sounds like your photographer may have bit off a little more than he can chew at this point in his career, I don't know? :dunno: he could have had other problems, I'd ask him and then if you do give him another chance to do s shoot for you stipulate no more than a week from shoot to proofs in your hand.

Sometimes I never even get mine.

Had to threaten court with one guy!

3 months is a way too long, it sure depends on your photographers workload but 10 days is more then enogh for editing. This guy has to earn money. If he takes photos and gives in 10 days, this means he can do 3 shootings a month. If a shots photos are given in 3 months, this means he can live 3 months with one shootings earning, my god the money he earn must be higher than we earn here :)

You should try to negotiate that in the contract (that you hopefully sign for each shooting) - of course it's too late now for that - but for every new shooting you should do !

In the contract I ask my models to sign I commit myself to 4 weeks - but normally make it within a week or two - the 4 weeks are just for the times I'm on holiday in between.
And I do about 2-3 shots a week om average - sometimes much more ! A calucation between the number of shots and the time needed to rework seems a little bit strange to me. I think it's depenend on how serious a photographer sees his and the models work.

Three months is really taurchable time to wait someone to get the result. When anyone
goes to a photographer for shoot a portfoio, confirm the time for delevering the final result.

Pretty much the same as everyone else has said. I have my proofs uploaded to my website for review within the first week. Second week is used for final touches and turnover. So two weeks time here for me, and thats processing a lot of shots.:dunno::thumbup:

Thanks guys. I think I will try another photogragher anyway. Just to get different styles of pictures. I thought it seemed a bit long :lips:

Not to sound brash, but you did not get something in writing? Always sort out these details before shooting and get it in writing.

No I didn't but I will next time.

I Usually provide photos within 2 weeks after a session.

Mine average 4 to 6 weeks, now they average 1 to 2 weeks.

The client gets the finished product in 2 weeks max , most of the time it is 1 week.

Cheers:)
:muscle:

I try to get the proofs up on the day of the shoot or the next day. Once the model has chosen her preferred images I generally get them their favourite image within a couple of days and the remainder over the course of the next 3 weeks
