I'm pretty sure that there is like a myth or something behind Friday the 13...but what? Why is it suppose to be unlucky? I was trying to get an appointment done for my friend last week and their next available is today friday the 13th and he refused to take it, i think its dumb.
so it got me thinking, 'im not superstitious so my question is whats all the hype about friday the 13. people thinks its bad luck, but why how and when did this start from?
People can always doubt what you say, but they can't doubt what you do.

The origins of Friday superstitions are many. One of the best known is that Eve tempted Adam with the apple on a Friday. Tradition also has it that the Flood in the Bible, the confusion at the Tower of Babel.

The origins of the Friday the 13th superstition have also been linked to the fact there were 13 people at the last supper of Jesus, who was traditionally crucified on Good Friday, but it probably originated only in medieval times.

Another suggestion is that the belief originated in a Norse myth about twelve gods having a feast in Valhalla. The mischievous Loki gatecrashed the party as an uninvited 13th guest and arranged for Hod, the blind god of darkness, to shoot Baldur, the god of joy and gladness, with a mistletoe-tipped arrow. Baldur was killed and the Earth was plunged into darkness and mourning as a result.

May be worth to note that they consider 13th Friday a lucky day in France. People take more lottery tickets dduring this day and some shops give freebies.

Friday the 13th was the day the Catholic church betrayed the Knights Templar and tortured and killed the leaders of that organization. It has been noted as an evil day ever since that time.

The Knights Templar were a monastic military order founded in Jerusalem in 1118 C.E., whose mission was to protect Christian pilgrims during the Crusades. Over the next two centuries, the Knights Templar became extraordinarily powerful and wealthy. Threatened by that power and eager to acquire their wealth, King Philip secretly ordered the mass arrest of all the Knights Templar in France on Friday, October 13, 1307 - Friday the 13th

You're absolutely right, of course!! That IS the true reason - origin - why Friday the 13th is considered unlucky! I may be interested in modeling, but I have a brain, too (as I am sure MANY models do!!)....lol. People just like to sterotype us, that's all!
xoxoxox!

I've never had a bad Friday the 13th.
