We did a body painting shoot yesterday, not exactly as planned. It was supposed to be a two person shoot, but one model cancelled. Anyway, we modified our plans and went along with the shooting.

We do have a slight problem that we need help with. The model has since reported that the paint is not coming off very easily. :shocked: Any body have information that might help? The paint is Airbrush paint from MAC, and is SUPPOSED to be water soluable. We will contact MAC on Monday, but the poor girl is all red and the sooner we can clean her up the better. ( We are not looking for volunterrs to scrub her down, just products). So far shampoo works best but it still required a fair bit of effort, and application of effort is hinderd when doing the back area. (She can't reach as easily).

Thanks.
Why do we struggle to paddle upstream while the river is taking us where we need to go?

If it won't scrub off it should wear off in a couple of days anyway as the skin renews itself constantly:thumbup:

Can't be fun for the model though it will wear off by itself, has the model tried a good long soak in a hot soapy bath yet?
Only other thing I can think of would be brush cleaner, white spirits or turpintine substitute:dunno:

I think the model could use spritis, but the drinking kind !~! ;)

She was in the shower for about half an hour, here, as soon as the shoot ended. only about half the paint came off. When she got home she soaked for an hour and scrubbed with an exfoliant, she got most of it off, except where she can't reach so easily, like her back side.

A make-up artist I used once suggested baby oil and the model will try that. I'll update on the results.

Hello;
I was in a show two years ago where the models were air brushed. I believe the Make-up artists used a lanolin or oil based lotion. The stuff was applied and left on while the rest of the body had the lotion applied. The MUA then (and it appeared quite easily) removed the paint. Don't know what kind of paint was used. Good Luck!

Update;
Apparently the baby oil aproach is working..:thumbup:
Thanks.
Now, wonder if that model will EVER want to work with me again....:embarassed:

Hey,
Sometimes you have to shed a little blood, sweat and tears to achieve perfection! Nothing worthwhile comes easy. (At least now you know what works and what dosen't.)

Yes. It was a bit of a stresser, but all part of the learning process. :muscle:
(Easy for me to say, I'm not the one who went home looking like a lobster :shocked: )
Oh, well. Another shoot in an hour - without body make-up on this one-. (And the model involved is from here, so if she reads this, I can't stress enogh, This WON'T happen to you...honest!):embarassed:

Well. as a side note... goes to show that one should not try to go against fate. The shoot should have been postponed as my regular MUA was unavailable. Rather than cancel I went with an alternative MUA, one that I had never used before, but who assured me she was trained in body painting. (yeah right!) :upset:

I may be a bit late but some creams for cleaning makeup or just for skin care creams (such as ornidary NIVEA cream) will work. :) hope it helps

Thanks, will be more prepared next time. Now we are looking at tips to help reduce the adhesion. Some people suggested applying a skin conditioner before applying the paint..

Yes it might be helpfull also, something like baby oil before paint aplication might moisturizes the skin and help to dont absorb all paint.

Thanks. I should state the MUA had ASSURED me she had worked with this product before and know what she was doing....:angry: :angry: :angry:

for future preference have her work out and let the sweat glans get rid of the paint. just have her wipe off the sweat when it starts dripping. by the way if that is air brushed it looks like they laye it on kinda thick.
Dante' A V

I agree with Dante - for air brush it looks very heavy applied - nice work though I really like the multi colour shots

The red shots started off as airbrush for a base. But we wanted to paint to mix and airbrushing caused the paint to dry almost instantly. So we just brushed it on.

The yellow and blue images are done with a tempura based paint.
