I am new to the site and to modeling. I have a portfolio and I am looking for an agency and work. Also, I am looking for any feedback or advice anyone would like to offer please.
Thanks guys.

Hi Molly
You have a great look.
I personally think you need to invest with a pro photographer and MUP and you will produce some great shots.
If you do just post your new shots on these forums.
Good Luck

Hello Molly,

You certainly have a pretty face, and your posing makes a statement. You are conveying emotion from your eyes, which is critical to a good shot. Take the time to practice your looks and learn about modeling. There are so many web resources for modeling advice, study them and you will be well armed for your photoshoots.

Your photographer has let you down, though. It's painfully obvious you were in the "zone" with your modeling, makeup, hair, clothing and location, but the photog's skills were not up to the task. You need to graciously thank that person and move on to the next photog. After several disappointments, you will know what good photography looks like. Get on ModelMayhem.com and offer TFCD shoots. You'll get to work with lots of photogs, develop an understanding of your own favorite styles and learn about the biz. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... always have an escort with you on a first time shoot. There are a lot of creeps out there, and you don't want anything to do with that.

As a woman, you probably know lots about makeup and clothing. Good models compliment that knowledge with some understanding of photography. Lighting, angles, color and composition is what it's all about. If you understand the work the photog does, you can present better in front of the camera, and can offer your own creative ideas on locations, styles and perspective. You can make your own art by telling the photog what you want.

To be blunt, a pretty girl is a dime-a-dozen. Hair, makeup and clothes can make any woman look cute, and she'll look back on those pictures when she's 80 saying "Wasn't I a dish?". But, there's no money in that. A skilled model is worth her weight in gold. You become a skilled model by studying and practicing your art with lots of local photogs who have different styles. It's a collaboration between the model, makeup artist, hair sytlist, clothing designer and photographer that creates a money-making shot. Get a linked up with a good local photog, and he/she can network you with MUAs and CDs to build your portfolio.

Those of us who pay models want educated, skilled, low-maintenance models who are passionate about creating art. The money comes from the effort we all put into it. It's not enough to be cute. Make a personal choice to be serious about the craft, and you can realize your dreams. Then, and only then, will your dream come true.

Good luck,
Rob
