It can take a few tries with some agencies to make any headway if that agency
will take you eventually, if an agency says "no, you're not what we're looking
for right now"...
wait between 6 & 12 weeks & write, e-mail or phone again, sometimes on 3rd or
4th attempt it's taken some established agency models to get taken on.
What you do on here might influence the agents too, new photo's, any
photographers you work with & any work you can get through just turning up at
open casting calls can increase your chances
It takes most models who make it a while getting started, hard to say how long
as it's different for individual upcoming models, you need to stick at it,
you're the ideal age for starting out in modeling, where some others between 25
& 29 will find it slightly harder to get agencies to take notice of them as the
agencies are after the younger age groups (like yourself)...
Keep your self fit & in good shape though, keep updating the profile... new
photo's, try getting a photographer that does tfp or tfcd
I think you can make it, just need to make the right connections & keep updating
things here |

money's on you enjoying at least limited success
I've done a tiny bit of modelling but this is really just a lay person's
reaction FWIW.
I prefer the one you posted here over the others in your profile - the pose is
more imaginative / original, less conventional. And it has charisma, which, to
me, is lacking in the others.
This one looks like a still from a movie. Loads of dramatic tension going on
there. More natural charisma in your face than Madonna and most other big names
I can think of. The pose looks like you're miles away and unaware of being
snapped - especially with the casual, 'unkempt' look, which seems to work better
for you than smarter dress IMHO.
The state of your hair and horizontal creases in the top, blend well with the
overall theme. But the crumpled bra with the vertical crease, jars - draws too
much attention away from the picture as a whole.
You're disappearing into the background - you need one with more contrast -
maybe a red-brick wall with some grafitti.
Maybe try I-shaped beads and earrings, rather than O-shaped - to make your face
look narrower. Or does it work the other way round? lol |

| Date: 2009-09-26 09:10 Nik,
I like your port and your look, I think you have a raw natural talent - and you
should have no problem working in the industry - keep at it - work your look -
experiment - try and work with as many photogs as possible - even if you find a
favorite. We are all as unique as are models. Best of luck - keep posting - if
you ever find a trip to the states I would be happy to work with you.

possible to get overseas long term contract. Did anyone done it? Any opinions
where I should look for this kind of work? I'm a mom of this pretty girl and she
is doing modeling here in Dubai (U.A.E.), but not really happy with the fees and
presentation. For example we had one TV commercial shoot where they used her in
a mane role for 10 hours and in the end the models who done just 3 0r 4 shots
got payed exactly same amount of money as she did. I don't think it is right.
How does it work in other counties? Curios to know. |
