Hi every, Minami here.....so bored this September, hope anyone who need
freelance model can find me, hope to hear your good news soon.
If you want to be a professional model you have to continually pitch yourself
and shoot and shoot and shoot until you find someone who thinks you are right
for a paid shoot.
Sucks, yeah. But that is modeling.
A professional Basketball player practices every day to be good enough to get
paid. That basketball player also played - for free - for years before scouts
made a payment offer.
When a model is represented typically that representation attempts to get the
model regular test shoots and auditions. The model does not get paid for these
shoots. The model gets paid if the entity doing the test shoot
likes the model and then commissions a shoot.
Without representation such as an agent, promoter or agency to do that for you,
you have to figure out how to get continuing and regular test shoots for
yourself on your own.
You cannot be afraid to offer yourself for test shoots and tfcd. You
have to shoot often to become recognized and stay recognized
and in demand. The less a model is photographed, the less the opportunity to get
paying gigs.
Beyond test shooting, offer yourself as a training model for art and photography
classes. Some colleges and universities pay a stipend, some do not, but either
way, it is good, solid practice, experience and a bonafide resume/portfolio
item.
The key is to find a way to keep shooting and to shoot often. And be patient. If
a career develops, it is rare that it occurs overnight. Also, your looks are
important but a number of other things can trip you up in getting a gig signed.
Remember, there are no guarantees in this business but those who do not try and
do not try hard, will sit on the sidelines wondering why other people made it. Have faith that the universe will unfold as it should |
