when someone says a word MODEL i imagine some of (relatively) old supermodels like Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer or Naomi Campbell. or maybe Kate Moss. What the most people imagine when chat turns to models?

In my opinion one of the most recognized model's Adriana Lima - nobody could get wrong her face with others! But Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss are out of the ordinary too.

ohhh.... I don't know that I'd agree on tyra... you have to consider that many "Models" go on to do other things.

Certainly it's her role as a presenter that has given her much more adulation than her admittedly glorious career modeling.

Cameron Diaz was a model. Still is. She is the face of Numerous products around the world.

Brad Pitt is also a model, for Edwin Jeans, Tag watchers, and a swag of other stuff.

In the days of celebrity endorsement, if you want to talk about Models who are most known "just for that".... then that's a different subject right?

Paris Hilton is probably more "known" these days... indeed she has modeled for many in print and on the catwalk.

In terms of Icons... you would have to consider Audrey Hepburn and Marylin Munroe... who's images have been used post humously to sell products for years.

Certainly they are as recognizable as Tyra or Kate or Paris.

When it comes down to Models who are known for sticking to the catwalk... I would say Cindy, Gizelle, and Naomi and Kate are the contenders... even if they have unsuccessfully tried their dainty hands at other things.
